The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) is a prominent governmental
institution in Pakistan with a profound influence on the country's energy and water resources
management. Established in 1958, WAPDA has consistently played a vital role in the
development and administration of Pakistan's water and power sectors. As the parent
organization of Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO), WAPDA oversees and guides
LESCO's operations, ensuring that it aligns with national energy policies and objectives.
WAPDA's core responsibilities encompass the planning, development, and management of water

Defence Division, commonly referred to as DHA (Defence Housing Authority) in Lahore, is a
prominent and affluent residential area in Lahore, Pakistan. Lahore Electric Supply Company
(LESCO) serves this division by providing electricity distribution and related services to its
residents and businesses.
My internship at LESCO was a transformative journey, where I gained invaluable insights and
practical experience in the dynamic world of electricity supply. I'm immensely grateful for this
