1. Define the following terms and expalin it in your own words

A. Ethics
-the discipline concerned with what is morally good and bad
and morally right and wrong. The term is also applied to any
system or theory of moral values or principles.
-Ethics is a set of rules guiding individuals and societies in
determining morality, focusing on principles like justice,
honesty, integrity, and respect. It covers personal conduct,
professional practices, and societal norms to promote a just
society.

B. Morality
-Morality refers to the set of standards that enable people to
live cooperatively in groups. It’s what societies determine to
be “right” and “acceptable.”
-Morality is a set of beliefs about right and wrong, guiding
people's actions and decisions. It encompasses personal or
cultural ethical values like fairness, justice, compassion, and
integrity. Morality serves as an internal compass, guiding
individuals through human interactions and striving for actions
consistent with their moral convictions..

C. Dilemma
-is a difficult situation in which you have to choose between
two or more alternatives.
-A dilemma is a difficult decision between two or more options
with opposing values, often involving moral or ethical
uncertainty. It can arise in various situations, requiring
individuals to balance competing interests. Resolution
involves careful consideration of the repercussions and critical
appraisal of each viable alternative, ensuring the best possible
outcome.
D. Reasoning
-the drawing of inferences or conclusions through the use of reason.
-Reasoning is the cognitive process of logically and methodically
thinking to draw conclusions, make decisions, or solve issues. It
involves understanding relationships between ideas, assessing
information's relevance and credibility, and making educated decisions
based on evidence. This key feature of human cognition helps navigate
difficult situations and reach rational opinions.

2. What are the importance of studying the subject ethics? Explain


-Studying ethics is essential because it provides as a guide through
the intricacies of human relationships and decision-making. It is not
only important to know what is good and wrong, but also to grasp
the concepts that drive our behavior. It also helps to categorize
discipline, honesty, and integrity in our daily behaviors. Individuals
may better adhere by rules and act responsibly with ethics if they
use them as a guideline to influence behavior and make the
appropriate decision.

3.what are your expectations of the subject? (insights/ learning)


-As a student, I intend to learn from ethics about the moral codes
implemented in society, whether by individuals or groups. Ethics
are the values that guide our decision-making and behaviors with
the goal of having a good effect. These will assist a person in
developing a system of values and acknowledging their moral
responsibilities to others.

4. What are the possible topics under this subject?


-I believe the possible topics for this subject are:
The fundamental notion of ethics, understanding the definition of
ethics, the primary areas of ethics, the features of moral standards,
and the relationship of ethics to other fields of science. because it is
the study of morality, which encompasses the theories of right and
wrong action, value, and virtue and vice. This course is designed to
help students develop their abilities to read, explicate, analyze, and
evaluate philosophical literature, write and express themselves well
about their own ethical positions, and think critically and analytically
about ethical issues.
