The Maintenance Work Preparer role is critical to the effective productivity of the maintenance
execution team. The aim is to effectively prepare any work that requires materials or resources to

upon work that is required in the future. This role is hugely beneficial to maintenance success.

Context:
The Kashagan Project is one of the largest developments in extreme conditions (e.g. Ice, H2S, High Pressure, shallow water) in the
history of oil & gas industry with close to 35 billion barrels of oil in place.
The full field development will consist of several phases. Other discoveries include Kashagan SW, Aktote, Kairan, all located in the
North Caspian Sea and covered by the North Caspian Sea Production Sharing Agreement (NCSPSA). There are seven shareholders
in the Venture: CNPC, ENI, ExxonMobil, Inpex, KMG , Shell, Total.
NCOC N.V. is the Operator of the NCSPSA. NCOC N.V. organizational is based in Atyrau, Kazakhstan.

Job Accountabilities:

 Make field inspections and determine the scope of the activities required to execute the preventive and predictive tasks
identified.
 Develop work pack for maintenance jobs with necessary tasks, estimate hours, the disciplines, materials, special tools, and
services to allow efficient scheduling, assignment and execution of maintenance work.
 Ensure work orders under their control (up to EXEC) are planned for completion within the LAFD dates.
 Produce a JHA (job hazard analysis) as preparation for the permit which is attached to each work order
 Pre-prepare permit to work.
 Determine materials not meeting ROS (Required On Site Date) dates and perform rough cut schedule. Follow-up the buyers if
required.
 Conduct materials bagging and tagging and physically checks the quality and quantity of materials or spares in the staging area.
 Create, use and maintain technical files to include information in current work pack and to anticipate and avoid job delays.
 Liases with other discipline Supervisors, Operations, Scheduler, and support services to ensure successful execution of work
 Develop technical competencies and skills.
 Attend key MIE meetings
 Achieve skill level as Work preparer in MIE Process
 Responsible for strict adherence to site safety practices, operation and maintenance management procedures, ROK
requirements, and international standards.

 Engagement in the turnaround of process equipment, as well as in pre-turnaround and post-turnaround activities at any site
location of the Company’s facilities (further - Turnaround);
 Execution of Turnaround works, during Turnaround period, at any site location of the Company’s facility as instructed (whether
in oral or written form) by the persons responsible for Turnaround and in accordance with the Schedule approved by Company;
 Compliance with HSSE standards and Quality Control procedures while executing Turnaround works;
 Complete, proper and timely execution of tasks assigned by the persons responsible for Turnaround;
 Any circumstances that slow down or prevent assigned tasks to be completed properly and within the time specified in the
Company Schedule shall be immediately reported to the persons responsible for Turnaround.

A typical breakdown of a Work Preparer’s day would usually follow a 60/20/20 rule:

Qualification & Experience Requirements:

Level II:
 Diploma / Qualification in discipline Engineering.
 Knowledge of common modes of failure applicable to large industrial equipment packages and ancillary equipment as a
build on RCA reference.
 Minimum 3 years related maintenance experience working in an oil & gas industry
 Technician experience
 Knowledge of preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance techniques;
 Understanding of applied equipment, tools and PPE
 Knowledge of HSSE risk assessments related activities, as well as relevant safety rules and warning & protection measures
 Demonstrated understanding of maintenance and inspection execution methods
 Experience in de-commissioning/commissioning and isolation/de-isolation methods
 Understand and aware of Permit To Work system
 Maintenance management awareness
 Computer literate
 Skill in communicating clearly and concisely both written and verbal
 Previous experience in Caspian Area or other H2S working environment would be an advantage

 Good communication skills, both oral and written


 English language would be an advantage
 Self starter who is able to effectively set and deliver against their own priorities within the context of the current and
planned workload
 Ability to work in team environments, communicate, understand and work within the dynamics of a multi functional and
multinational environment

Working Conditions:
Work pattern according in compliance with the existing additional agreement which is an integral part of Employment agreement.
Assessment of hazards associated with a task (i.e. how severe potential health impacts might be, the likelihood of these occurring and
the control measures required to make the work site as safe as reasonably practicable) is conducted by several processes: such as
Health Risk Assessment, Workplace Attestation, and Industrial control. HSSE department is nominated as process owner for
implementation and communication to personnel.
 The job holder will be required to carry Self Contained Breathing Apparatus, (SCBA), whilst outside on the plant, and don
SCBA to execute certain activities.
 A clean shaven policy applies to all site locations.

Execution of Turnaround works at any site location of the Company’s facility without amending the work location or terms of

The Company Personnel shall properly use (store, manage, maintain, dispose etc.) the Company property as established by RoK laws
and Company acts. The Personnel shall not allow embezzlement, loss, damage, destruction, misuse, theft or misappropriation of the
Company’s property or any other offences against the Company’s property. In case of failure to fulfil / improper fulfilment of the
mentioned duties if this entailed loss or damage of property the Company Personnel may be brought to liability by the decision of
Company.
