Explaining words

Ana: I’m so hungry!

Carlos: Me too! I would love to eat a completo right now.
Ana: What’s a completo?
Carlos: It’s a kind of fast food.
Ana: I don’t know what it is.
Carlos: It’s a typical food in Chile like burritos in Mexico. A
completo is kind of like a hot dog, but you also include
avocado, tomato, and other ingredients.
Ana: Wow! It sounds delicious.

Does Ana know what a completo is?

We use:

 a kind of: we explain the type/classification/CATEGORIZE.

 kind of like: we explain something referring to similarities with other thing.
(comparison)
 like: we give examples.
For example:
 Salsa is a kind of dance in couples, like cueca and tango, but it is kind of like merengue.
 Pizza is a kind of fast food, like hot dog, sopaipillas, hamburger and French fries. Pizza is
kind of like a tortilla with cheese and other ingredients.
