WOODS - DAY

NEVEAH and ARI run through the woods. Heavy breathing whilst
running. Shooting background sounds. Villains in black
costumes are running after Neveah and Ari.

Ari is on the phone to Neveah, Neveah is looking through her

playstation.

NEVEAH

ARI

Do you have any new games which we

ARI

Neveah ends the call.

The door rings. Neveah walks to the door and opens it.

Ari walks in the door and Neveah and Ari walk to try find
another game. They go to Neveah's mums wardrobe to try look
for a game and they find in the back of the cuboard a CD of
an old game

ARI
wait isn't this the game your mum
didn't allow us to play until we're
older or something?

NEVEAH
umm maybe?
(Pauses)
wait! I think it is

ARI
why is it called "Green Guards"?

NEVEAH
I don't know but look interesting

ARI
Okay put it in and let's start.

Neveah takes out the CD and puts it into the playstation and
sits down with both controllers on the sofa.

The game starts playing with music behind it. The screen says
play on it. Neveah and Ari look at each other and they press
play on the screen.

The screen starts to glitch with the music sounding weird and
glitching out.

Maybe it's just old it will sort
itself out.

The music starts to become louder

ARI
I don't think it's the age!
(Scared and looks at Neveah)
Turn it off now!

Neveah gets up quickly and tries to take out the CD out of

the playstation.

NEVEAH
(Panicking)
It's not coming out!

Ari runs to the socket and pulls the plug out quickly.

(They both sigh in relief)

ARI
I think stick to the normal games for
now

The game's music starts playing again. Neveah and Ari look at
each other confused and scared. Ari's body starts to glitch.

ARI
Neveah, what is going on!

Ari gets sucked into the game. Neveah stands back and looks
at the screen looking scared. Her body starts glitching.

NEVEAH
MOTHER F...

Neveah gets sucked into the game. The room is empty and
silent.

INT. NEVEAH'S HOUSE - MORNING

Neveah wakes up in her bed confused. She sits up and looks

around her room to see if anything has changed.

NEVEAH
That was the weirdest dream ever.

Bomb!

Neveah jumps out of her bed and runs to her kitchen. the
grenade blows up in the background. She runs into Ari.

Neveah and Ari scream at the same time. They realise it's
each other and hug.

ARI
Thank god it's you

NEVEAH
Same! oh my god.
(They both sigh in relief)
Wait what are you doing in my house?

ARI
I was thinking the same thing - maybe
I sleep walked into your house

NEVEAH
You do sleep walk
(laughs)
Do you want to go get some breakfast
at Bottle and Glass and go see Lisa?

ARI
Yes please, I am so hungry!

They walk out of the house together.

INT. CAR - MORNING

They both walk into the car and start driving to the pub for
breakfast.

ARI
Wait did I just see your bedroom all
blown up?

NEVEAH
Yeah someone throw a grenade thing in
my room, but I have no idea, will fix
it when I get home.

They drive into the pub car park.

INT. PUB - MORNING

Neveah and Ari both walk into the pub.

NEVEAH
Hey Lisa, the usual please
(Lisa looks at Neveah and Ari
weirdly)

LISA
Do I know you guys?

ARI
(Laughs)
Lisa you are a funny one.

LISA
I'm sorry but you must have the wrong
person but what can I get you?

ARI
We are in the bottle and glass right
in Binfeild heath?

LISA
No? This is the bottle and class
(Neveah and Ari look at each other
confused with a slight smile)

They walk outside to the front of the pub then walk back in.

NEVEAH
It is called the bottle and class. I
always thought it was the bottle and
glass. have we been saying it wrong
all this time?

ARI

(Confused and then looks at Lisa
the bartender)
Umm can we have two hot chocolates
please?

Lisa goes to grab Neveah and Ari the drinks. They both go to
sit down at a table with their hot chocolates.

That was weird, right?

Definitely. Why doesn't she remember
us and why has the pub name changed.

NEVEAH
so I'm not the only one who thought it
was glass not class. Thank you!

ARI
Yeah weird.

NEVEAH

(They both sit in silence)

Lisa is on the phone to the villains.

LISA
The imposters are here at my pub, come
quick

Lisa ends the phone call and looks over to Neveah and Ari
worried but with an evil look.

At the table with Neveah and Ari, they are going over what
happened with the video game.

ARI
Okay, so we turned on the game but
started making a weird sound. tried to
turn it off then..
(pauses)
Wait, I can't remember what happened
after that.

NEVEAH
Yeah, me neither. All I remember is
waking up back in my bedroom.

ARI
Wait?!

Neveah and Ari quickly look at each other quickly with wide
eyes.

NEVEAH
(Panicking)
OH MY GOD, WHAT DO WE DO? WE ARE IN
THE GAME! A FLIPPING VIDEO GAME!

ARI
Okay okay calm down Nev.

NEVEAH
CALM DOWN! WE ARE IN A VIDEO GAME!

ARI
DON'T YOU THINK I KNOW THAT!

The villains bang through the pub door with guns shooting
through the roof.

(BANG BANG on the door PEW PEW

through the roof)

Neveah and Ari look at each other scared and both drop under
the table and hold onto each other.

The villains start shouting and continues to shoot their

guns.

VILLAINS
(Shouts)
EVERYONE GET DOWN! WHERE ARE THEY! GET
DOWN ON THE GROUND!

Neveah and Ari look at each other scared wondering what to

do.

LISA
(whispers)
Hey, hide here

NEVEAH
(mouths to Lisa)
Thank you

Neveah and Ari are getting shot at, windows break and they
try crawl over the glass on the floor and try get behind the
bar to hide from the villains.

VILLAINS
WHERE ARE THEY!

Ari looks at Neveah scares.

The gun shots and shouting stops and everything goes silent.
The villains sneak up behind Neveah and Ari and puts black
covers over them.

ARI AND NEVEAH

(Screams)

They get dragged away by their torso's, their feet being

dragged away in front of them from the bar

DIPS TO BLACK

INT. BASEMENT - DAY

___________________

The black covers get pulled off of Neveah and Ari. Both of
them look confused and scared, they look at each other with
messy hair.

They are tied to two chairs and try to move but cannot. One
of the villains in a black costume and mask walks slowly
towards Neveah and Ari with a gun in their hand.

VILLAIN 1
What are you doing here?

Neveah and Ari look at each other confused

VILLAIN 1
What are you doing here?

ARI
Umm not really sure what you mean by
that sir

VILLAIN 1
What. Are. You. Doing. Here!?

Neveah and Ari gulp and are really scared.

Another villain walks towards Villain 1. Neveah and Ari get

more scared. Villain 2 hits villain 1 over the head with the
gun. They drop the gun and walk towards Neveah and Ari.

NEVEAH
(trembles)
Hey? We can work this out right?

The villain walks stops in front of Neveah and Ari. They go

to take off their mask and the villains face is revealed.
Lisa is behind the mask.

LISA
Hey guys

ARI
LISA!

LISA
Shhhhhh! be quite the other guards
will hear.

Lisa goes to untie Neveah and Ari.

Now hurry up and follow behind me.

Lisa runs off quickly, Neveah and Ari look at each other
confused but quickly run after behind Lisa.

Lisa opens a door to outside

CUTS

EXT. WOODS - DAY

They all run outside, Neveah stops Lisa.

NEVEAH
How did you find us?

LISA
Okay look, around 10 years ago a girl
comes into the game just like you
guys. She met my mum when he came,
they became really goos friends but
this messed up everything up. The
guards found out about this and
started hunting her down. My mum tried
to help her escape but the girl died
in the process. The guards make sure
nothing like that happens again. That
why you need to leave now!

Neveah and Ari look at each other confused and scared.

NEVEAH
Oh god! So what do we do now?

I am going to help you escape. And
make sure you do this time!

They all run to Lisa's car and get in. Lisa starts driving
down a long road. The car is silent. Lisa stops the car down
the road by some woods.

LISA
Okay, this is where I have to let you
go.

ARI
So your just going to leave us here?

LISA
I can't go in there, just start
running and you will find a tree with
the name Erica. There will be another
tree next to the name - walk through
and you will arrive home.

ARI
(whispers to himself)
Erica?

NEVEAH
Okay, well thank you for all your
help. Lets go Ari

LISA
good luck and be careful

Lisa drives off quickly, Neveah and Ari are standing by the
woods looking up to the trees.

They start running into the woods trying to find the tree
with the name. Ari is looking really confused and is thinking
whilst running. In the distance, gun shots are fired.

ARI
Neveah wait!

NEVEAH
Ari come on we are nearly there. hurry
up

They continue running and get to the two trees. They stop and
start panting.

Ari walks to the tree and outlines Erica's name with his

What is it?

ARI
10 years ago is when my sister went
missing and her name was..

NEVEAH
Erica!

They both realise and their eyes widen.

The guards circle Neveah and Ari.

VILLAINS
STOP THERE!

NEVEAH
Look we just want to go home

VILLAINS
The way to leave, a soul will see the
light, One can breathe, The other will
see the night.

Neveah and Ari look at each other concerned. They turn away
from the guard with their heads faced together

NEVEAH
I think we can only leave if...

ARI
If one of us dies!

They continue to look at each other wondering what to do. Ari

turns to the guard, Neveah follows.

ARI
NO! There has to be another way.
(Turns to Neveah)
Right?

Neveah looks down to her feet in guilt.

Neveah?

NEVEAH
I'm sorry

Neveah grabs a gun from behind her back and points it at Ari.
Neveah closes her eyes and shoots Ari.

Ari grabs his stomach in pain and looks at Neveah in shock.

He drops to the floor and closes his eyes.

VILLAINS
(laughs)
Did you really think that was how you
could escape!

NEVEAH
(shock and guilt)
what?

VILLAINS
You could have both escaped together
and both live but now I have to kill
you too.

Neveah feels a lot of guilt, she looks at her gun then at Ari
on the floor. She realises what she has done.

NEVEAH
(screams)

Neveah screams in anger and shoots all of the villains making

them all fall down to the ground. She looks at Ari.

Neveah runs through the portal

INT. NEVEAH'S HOUSE - DAY

_________________________

Neveah comes out to the playroom. She looks to her right and
see that Ari isn't next to her. She drops her head into her
hands.

INT. TV - NIGHT

NEWS PRESENTER
18 year old Ari Dails, has been
assumed dead after no body has been
found after being reported missing
three months ago. Police say there is
slim chance of his survival.

Neveah turns off the TV and walks out of the living room.

EXT. GRAVE - EVENING

Neveah is standing over Ari's grave in guilt. She has flowers

in her hand with her head lowered. Ari's figure comes up in
the distance behind Neveah.
