COMPANY PROFILE

The company was established in 1981- feb-09. The chairman of this company is Mr.
ARMUGAM.R. He was born in Tamilnadu. He completed his MBA graduation in ANNA
UNIVERSITY.

He started business in 1981, now the Gomathy spinner company has several branches in
Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala. The head office is in Tamilnadu.

Now the general manager of this company is BATRAJ. The company is located in
BANGARUPALYAM. His education qualification is MBA graduation in HR. His experience is
15 years. The salary of the general manager is Rs.50, 000. He was born in Tamilnadu. At present
he is working in Gomathy spinner at bangarupalyam since 2 years.

In this company, there are working 400 employees. There are three shifts in this
company.

This company was established in 1981-feb 9, this company owner is armugam; his
mother name is gomathy, so he started his company name with gomathy spinner.

There are two staffs in this company.

1. Sitting staff
2. Non-sitting staff.

1. Sitting staff:-

Sitting staff means those who have educational qualifications are compulsory.

2. Non-sitting staff:-

Non- sitting staff means those who do not require educational


qualifications.

FUNCTIONS OF DEPARTMENT

SECURITY DEPARTMENT:-

1. The function of this dept is to see the ID cards of the employees after entering the
company.
2. If the others are entering into the company, they will take permission from any one
employee or manager.
3. With the permission of the employee or manager, the issues of the visitor pass.
4. If the visitor pass does not have from the new one, they will not allow into the
company.
5. No. of securities-7
Day time- 3 members
Night time- 4 members

TIME DEPARTMENT:-
1. There are three shifts per day.
2. The functions of the department are to take sign before entering into duty and leaving
out side of the company.
3. Nearly the employees have 1 ½ hour break time.
4. shifting timings
 8am to 4.30pm
 4.30 To 1.00 am
 1am to 8 am

FINANCE DEPARTMENT:-
1. The function of the department is working between 8 am to 5 pm.

2. To check the daily production & material cost.

3. They will calculate the salaries of the attending employees.

4. Yearly calculate the profit & balance sheet of the company.

Production department:-
1. The employees are working in three shifts in a company.

2. The machineries are working through electricity and generates.

3. The production process can take place 24 hours.

4. They will reduce the wastage of the spinner product.

5. The function of the department to check the quality of the cotton & polyester.

6. In these they will add 30% cotton, & 70% polyester to match the thread stronger.

7. There are working 95 members per shift.

8. This working people permanent workers and daily workers also in the company.

HR MANAGER:
1. In the H R manager can equipment 90% of ladies to work in the company.

2. Because they have patience to do the work.

3. The work in the thread company is complicated and sophisticated.

4. The HR manager can see all the details of the employees and their working times.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITES OF HEADS

FINANCE DEPARTMENT:

1. In the department the employees who are not able to submit the work with in time, firstly
the department head send a notice to him in the first day.
2. If the `employee does not respond to the notice within 24 hours, in the next day they want
to know the details of the employees for the reason of the lateness of their work.
3. If the employee does not complete his work within three days of giving notice the
department takes action about the particular employee.

PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT:

1. In this department the employees are working with the three shifts.
2. If the employees will have any leave the want to take permission in the time office.
3. If the employee will be absent without permission the one day salary will be cut off from
net salary.

WORKERS [Labors]:

1. In these workers want any leave; they have post a letter in “leave letter box” in time
Office.
2. In the department the workers are working in the three shifts
3. In these, the workers have more OT hours compare to permanent employees.

SECURITY:

A. In this department the security employees are informed to security head, he take any leave
otherwise the will punish from the security head as well as general manager.
B. For every security member there should be four leaves per month.
C. For security department also there should be free medical services for their family.
D. For temporary security employees there should be extra 50% salary for night shifts.

PRODUCTION LINE

1. The main product of this company is thread.

2. The thread is made up of cotton and polyester.

3. The cotton is imported from polachy.

4. The polyester is imported from Mumbai.

5. The polyester is manufactured from Bamboo sticks.

6. The thread is manufactured in with 30% of cotton and 70% of polyester.

PRODUCTION PROCESS
There are seven stages for the production process manufacturing the thread. The production
process is under given below.

1. Blow Room
2 .Carding room
3. Sliver ribbon
4. Drawing room
5. Spinning room
6. Winding room
7. Packing room.

BLOW ROOM:

A. Firstly they can mix 70% of polyester and 30% of cotton.


B. For 1000 KG’S of polyester and cotton, they can add 3 liters of oil and 4 liters of
water.
C. This process can take place for 8 hours to become the whiteness of the raw material.
D. In this process the cotton and polyester purified for two times.
E. Due to the purification the raw material should be white.

CARDING ROOM:

A. In the machinery, the lab weight is 19.6 kg’s.


B. The lot contains 1000 KG’S.
C. For every lot, there are 80 lab weights.
D. The machinery back part, they put the lab weights and in the process the thread comes
into can with 3 inches thick with a E. The process cans takes place for 70 minutes.
E. For quality of thread, they clean the machinery for 1 hour every day.
F. For 6 labs, they can take 8 hours.
G. There are 21 cardings of 126 lab weight of 19.6 KG’S.

SLIVER RIBBON:

A. For one lab there are 12 carding full cans.


B. The process can take place 5 minutes for 1 lab.
C. For every 8 labs there is a ribbon lab of 6 kg’s of 8 bundles.
D. In this process the thread come with 2 inches into can.
E. For quality of thread they use 60 sliver ribbons.

DRAWING ROOM:

A. In the machinery 12 cans are inserted.


B. Each side 6 cans are inserted.
C. In the process the 6 cans get together into single can that is breaker [drawing 1].
D. The remaining 6 cans get together and gives drawing-2 [E. Finishing means quality
and whiteness with one inch of thread.
E. 120 cans have 120 bobbins.
F. Bobbin means 1 kg of thread with 1 inch Finisher.
G. In this stage the thread thickness is small in size.

WINDING ROOM:

A. In this process, the thread is rolled into cone shape.


B. One cone wind weight is 300 gm’s.
C. There are 100 cones in each bag.
D. The thickness of the thread is very small.
E. In this process for one hour, there should be 1200 cones are manufactured.

SPINNING ROOM:

A. In this process 480 cops are inserted in two sides.


B. In this, the thread is covered to very thin.
C. In this process the thread is rolled.

PACKING ROOM:

A. In this process the rolled threads are inserted in a bag.


B. There are 100 bobbins for each bag.
C. There should be at least 300 bags of thread manufactured for a day.
D. Each packing bag weight contains 62.3 kg’s.

BENEFITS TO THE EMPLOYEES:

1. For regular attendance, there should be exgrecia for every month.


2. There should be free medical services for the employees and for their families.
3. If any accident occurs, the company will give 1.5 lakhs for permanent employees and
75000 for temporary employees.
4. The company should give pension to permanent employees after their retirement.

Threats:

The cost of producing many consumer products tends to have fallen because of lower
manufacturing costs. Manufacturing cost has fallen due to outsourcing to low-cost regions of the
World. This has lead to price competition, resulting in price deflation in some ranges. Intense
price competition is a threat.

Opportunities:

 To take over, merge with, or form strategic alliances with other global retailers,
focusing on specific markets.
 The stores are currently only trade in a relatively Tamilnadu. Therefore there are
tremendous opportunities for future business in expanding consumer markets, such as
in chittoor district.
 New locations and store types offer opportunities to exploit market development.
They diversified from large super centers, to local and mall-based sites.
 Opportunities exist to continue with its current strategy of large, super centers.

 Being number one means that you are the target of competition, locally and
globally.
 Being a global retailer means that you are exposed to political problems in the
countries that you operate in.
