Unit 7 Political Scandal

Write a TV report about the latest political scandal. Your partner has the missing
information. Ask him/her questions and complete the report.

It happened at (1) 9:00 this morning. Mr. Ted Simmons, the well-known candidate for
the (2) new age Party , was at his home in Ashbury when police came to question him.
He was taken to Police Headquarters for questioning. Inspector George Haywood told reporters that
the police are questioning Mr. Simmons because they believe he stole (3) money from
his own campaign funds and transfer red it to his personal bank account. Police suspect that
(4) Two others members of his staff are involved in the crime as well. Mr. Simmon’s assistant,
(5) Mr. kingston , has said that the candidate will make an important announcement at a press
conference this evening. The press conference will take place at exactly
(6) 7:00 p.m. this evenig , at the Windsor Prison, where Mr. Simmons is being held.
Mr. Simmons will probably announce that (7) he is resigning from the campaign .
It’s interesting that the key issue in the New Age Party campaign was crime. Does this also include
