PROJECT DELAYS
Greetings everyone, I would firsty like to express my gratitude and congratulate the
mediators for doing a tremendous job at facilitating such a comfortable environment for the
parties and for explaining the process of mediation at a great length

Secondly I would like to thank the representatives of TechPro, for being interested in solving
issues amicably and partaking in today's mediation session.

Like I mentioned earlier, I am Ashna Shroff, and I’ve been the legal advisor at AksumPost for
more than a decade now. I will be representing and facilitating all communications in my
client’s interests at today’s mediation session.

Respecting the paucity of time today, I will straight away move to the discussions.

AksumPost stands before this panel, not merely as a government-owned entity, but as a vital
institution integral to the fabric of our nation, Aksum .

Our postal service does not transcend just mere mail delivery, it also provides much needed
financial services; moreover it serves as a lifeline connecting communities, facilitating
commerce, and upholding the economy of our society.

In recent years, AksumPost has embraced its shortcomings of using time-honoured manual
methods and had come to the conclusion that it is indeed imperative to modernize the
operations to meet the evolving needs of our citizens and the demands of a digital age.

Our partnership with TechPro was inculcated with the shared objective of facilitating this era
of transformation,

After an appropriate and elaborate selection process, we believed that their expertise would
propel us forward into a future of efficiency and innovation that would be significant not
only for the company but for the nation thereof.

However, as we’ve met on this table today, it is evident that the journey has been impacted
by various unforeseen challenges and significant setbacks.

The implementation process, which was intended to help with Akum Post's transition to
digitalization, has been accompanied with numerous delays, miscommunications, and
operational deficiencies.

Soon after the commencement of the project, it became apparent that the operations were
not running on schedule. This created a very unfavorable situation for AkumPost.

Employees were caught getting overworked due to juggling between fulfilling pending
deliveries and integrating digitized practices. The delays brought several post offices to a
standstill bringing the company on the verge of premature demise.
These shortcomings have not only disrupted our services and hampered us financially but
have also tarnished the trust and confidence of those we are bound to serve ie the people of
Aksum.

Yet,today we remains steadfast in trying to overcome these obstacles and creating a path
forward that honors our obligations to our citizens and our partnership with TechPro.

I believe that the representatives also keep in mind that today’s discussion will not only
impact both the parties directly, but it will also impact the whole industry at a glance

I acknowledge and recognize the complexities inherented in such endeavors but I believe
TechPro’s intention to pull out of the project and halting all operations is not the only
solution to the situation at hand.

In the spirit of cooperation and goodwill, I hope today’s discussion can help us reach a
fruitful settlement that is beneficial to both parties. Together, let us identify the root causes
of our challenges and create a course that not only restores trust and confidence but also
lays the foundation for a stronger, partnership moving forward.
