Objectives of the Course


Theobjectives of the course are to make Environmental Law
familiar
he
to the students by understanding all dimensions of
subject. The contribution of Constitution and
Constitutional Courts by recognising the right to wholesome
Environment as a Fundamental Human Right with the aid
of Public lnterest Litigation and Principles of Environmental
Law are also explored. lt is necessary to explore the Laws
enacted bythe Union and StateGovernments by incorporating
the Internationalcommitment under the various Conventions
and Declarations. The Policies and Strategies of the
Governments towards Environmental protection are also
focused.

COURSE OUTLINE
A. Drafting: General principles of Drafting and relevant
substantive Rules shall be taught.
B. Pleadings:
a. Civil: Plaint, Written
Statement, Interlocutory
Application, Original Petition, Affidavit,
Petition, Memorandum of Appeal and Execution
Bevision,
Petition under Articles 226 and 32 of the
Constitution of India.
b. Criminal: Complaint, Criminal Miscellaneous
Petition, Bail Application, Memorandum of Appeal
and Revision.
C. Conveyancing: Sale Deed, Mortgage Deed, Lease
Deed, Gift Deed, Promissory Note,
Attorney, Will, Trust Deed. Power of
d. Drafting of Writ Petition and PIL Petition.
Instructions class and simulation exercises, preferably with
assistance of practising lawyers/ retired judges will be
provided for the students.
Apart from teaching the relevant provisions of law,
course may included not less than l5 practical the
Drafting carrying atotal of 45 marks (3 marks forexercises in
15 exercises in Conveyancing carrying another 45 each) and
marks for each exercise) remaining 10markS will bemarks (3
