- Wellness is the quality or state of being in good health. Wellness is the act of practicing healthy habits
on a daily basis to attain better physical and mental health outcomes, so that instead of just surviving,
you're thriving. An example of wellness is eating correctly and exercising every day. Wellness is an active
process of becoming aware of and making choices towards a healthy and fulfilling life. There are seven
(7) concepts of wellness. The physical, emotional, spiritual, social, environmental, occupational and
financial wellness.

Physical Wellness is the ability to maintain a healthy quality of life that allows us to get through our daily
activities without undue fatigue or physical stress. Emotional wellness is the ability to successfully
handle life's stresses and adapt to change and difficult times. Spiritual wellness is being connected to
something greater than yourself and having a set of values, principles, morals and beliefs that provide a
sense of purpose and meaning to life, then using those principles to guide your actions. Social wellness
refers to the relationships we have and how we interact with others. Environmental wellness is having
good health by occupying pleasant, stimulating environments that support well-being. Occupational
Wellness is a healthy work-life balance that includes managing workplace obligations and stress as well
as maintaining healthy relationships with co-workers. Lastly, the financial wellness. It is effectively
managing your economic life and this simple concept encompasses many factors. Even if there are
different concepts of wellness, they share some benefits in our life, and that is because wellness allows
you to nurture personal responsibility for your own health.

3. Explain how does age, heredity, food, exercise and sleeping affect fitness and wellness of an
individual?
-Balancing fitness and wellness of an individual is very important for our good health. With the help of
proper eating and exercising, it can protect you from any illness and improve the quality of your life.
Here are some factors in achieving fitness and wellness.

As people age, they are more likely to experience several conditions at the same time. Common
conditions in older age include hearing loss, cataracts and refractive errors, back and neck pain and
osteoarthritis, pulmonary disease, diabetes, depression and dementia. So, we should be careful as we
age to prevent this conditions. Some individuals get their conditions because of heredity. Heredity
influences several factors that contribute to fitness, such as body size and muscle fiber composition.
Whether we are tall or short is determined by heredity. Changes in many genes, each with a small effect,
may underlie susceptibility to many common diseases, including cancer, obesity, diabetes, heart disease,
and mental illness. Also, the foods that we eat daily. Eating well help to reduce the risk of physical
health. A food is something that provides nutrients. Nutrients are substances that provide: energy for
activity, growth, and all functions of the body such as breathing, digesting food, and keeping warm;
materials for the growth and repair of the body, and for keeping the immune system healthy. We should
watch out what we are eating because it may lead us to any disease. They said that exercise is powerful
medicine, it is powerful indeed. Exercise is an important part of a healthy lifestyle. Exercise prevents
health problems, builds strength, boosts energy, and can help reduce stress. It can also help you
maintain a healthy body weight and curb your appetite. But after those exhausting exercise you deserve
some rest and a good sleep. Sleep allows your body to recover from the previous day. Getting enough
rest after a workout strengthens your muscles and tissues, which can help you avoid fatigue and
exercise-related injuries. Conversely, poor sleep may lead to lower physical activity levels during the day.
At the end of the day, it's up to us to discipline ourselves. Do not abuse your health because it may lead
you to some serious diseases.
