coverest Thyself with light as with a garment, Who
stretchest out the heaven as it were a curtain; Who

supporteth His chambers in the waters, Who

َ ‫الص ِان ُع َم‬ ِّ ‫نح ِة‬


appointeth the clouds for His ascent, Who walketh
upon the wings of the winds, Who maketh His ،ً‫الئكتَ ُه أرواحا‬ َّ .‫الرياح‬ َ ‫أج‬ْ ‫الماشي على‬
angels spirits, and His ministers a flame of fire.
Who establisheth the earth in the sureness thereof;
،‫اع ِدها‬ ِ ‫ المؤِسس األرض على َقو‬.‫نار‬
َ ْ ُ َّ ٍ ‫هيب‬ َ َ‫ام ُه ل‬ َ ‫وخّد‬

it shall not be turned back forever and ever. The ،‫كالثوب‬ ُ ‫ ِر‬.‫ع الى َد ْه ِر الداهرين‬
‫داؤهُ الل َج ُة‬ ُ ‫فال تَتَ َز ْع َز‬
‫ و ِم ْن‬،‫ك تَ ْه ُر ُب‬ ِ ‫ ِم ْن ْانِت‬.‫المياه‬ ِ ‫بال تَقِف‬
ُ ِ ‫على ال ِج‬
abyss like a garment is His mantle; upon the
mountains shall the waters stand. At Thy rebuke َ ‫هار‬
ِ ِ ِ ِ
َ ِ‫ض الب‬
‫قاع‬ ُ ‫ وتَ ْن َخف‬،‫بال‬ َ ‫ تَ ْرتَف ُع ال ِج‬.‫ك تَ ْج َزع‬ َ ‫ص ْوت َر ْعد‬
they will flee, at the voice of Thy thunder shall they
be afraid. The mountains rise up and the plains sink َ
‫ض ْع َت َلها َحّداً َفال‬ ِ ‫إلى المو‬
down, unto the place where Thou hast established َ ‫ َو‬.‫أس ْستَ ُه َل َها‬ َّ ‫ض ِع الذي‬ َْ
‫رس ُل‬ ِ ‫الم‬
ُ ‫أنت‬ َ .‫األرض‬ ْ ‫ وال تَر ِج ُع فتُ َغطي َو ْج َه‬،ُ‫تَتَ َعّداه‬
them. Thou appointedst a bound that they shall not
pass, neither return to cover the earth. He sendeth
forth springs in the valleys; between the mountains .‫المياه‬ ِ ‫بال تَعبر‬ ِ ‫ وفي وس ِط ال ِج‬.‫عاب‬ ِ ‫الش‬ ِّ ‫يون في‬ َ ‫الع‬
will the waters run. They shall give drink to all the ُُ ْ َ ُ
ِ ‫حوش‬ِ ‫تَ ْسقِي ُك َّل ُو‬
beasts of the field; the wild asses will wait to ‫عند‬
َ ‫ش‬ ِ ‫الو ْح‬َ ‫مير‬ ُ ‫ تُْقِب ُل َح‬،‫ياض‬ ِ ‫الغ‬
ِ ‫ ِم ْن‬،‫ماء تَ ْس ُك ُن‬
‫بين‬ ِ ‫الس‬ َّ ‫يور‬ ُ ‫ط‬ ُ ‫ َعلَ ْيها‬.‫ط ِش َها‬ َ ‫َع‬
quench their thirst. Beside them will the birds of the
heaven lodge, from the midst of the rocks will they
give voice. He watereth the mountains from His ‫بال ِم ْن‬ ِ
َ ‫أنت الذي َي ْسقي ال ِج‬ َ .‫أصو ِاتها‬ ْ ِ‫خور تُ َغ ِّرُد ب‬
ِ ‫الص‬
‫أعمالِ َك تَ ْش َب ُع‬ ِِ ‫ع‬
ْ ‫ ِم ْن ثَ َم َ ِرة‬،‫الليه‬
chambers; the earth shall be satisfied with the fruit
of Thy works. He causeth the grass to grow for the ‫أنت الذي‬ َ .‫األرض‬ ُ ّ َ
‫ لُِي ْخ ِرَج‬.‫الب َشر‬ ِ ِِ ِ ‫ي ْنِب ُت الع ْشب لِْلب‬
َ ‫ض َرةَ لخ ْد َمة‬ ْ ‫الخ‬
ُ ‫ و‬،ِ‫هائم‬
cattle, and green herb for the service of men, to
bring forth bread out of the earth; and wine maketh َ َ ُ ُ

‫ َلي ْبتَ ِه َج‬.‫الخ ْم ُر تَُف ِّرُح َقْل َب اإلنسان‬ َ ‫ و‬،‫ض‬ ِ ‫األر‬ ِ
ْ ‫ُخ ْب اًز م َن‬
glad the heart of man. To make his face cheerful
with oil; and bread strengtheneth man’s heart. The
trees of the plain shall be satisfied, the cedars of ‫ تُ ْرَوى‬.‫اإلنسان‬ ْ ‫الخ ْب ُز ُي َشِّدُد َقْل َب‬ ُ ‫ و‬،‫يت‬ ِ ‫بالز‬
َ ‫الو ْج ُه‬ َ
‫ش‬ ُ ‫ناك تُ َع ِّش‬ َ ‫ ُه‬.‫ص ْبتَ ُه‬ َ ‫لبنان الذي َن‬ َ ‫ و ْأرُز‬،‫الغاب‬ ِ ‫جار‬
ُ ‫أش‬
Lebanon, which Thou hast planted. There will the
sparrows make their nests; the house of the heron is ْ
ِ
ُ ‫ ال ِج‬.‫ومساك ُن الهيرودي تَتََقَّد ُمها‬
‫بال‬ َ ،‫صافير‬ ُ ‫الع‬
َ
chief among them. The high mountains are a refuge
ِ ِ ِ
for the harts, and so is the rock for the hares. He
hath made the moon for seasons; the sun knoweth ‫القم َر‬
َ ‫صن َع‬ َ .‫خور َمْلجأٌ لألرانب‬ ُ ‫ والص‬،‫العال َي ُة لأليَلة‬
‫فكان‬ َّ ‫ و‬،‫لألوقات‬ِ
َ َ‫ َج َع َل الظْل َمة‬.‫روبها‬ َ ‫الش ْم ُس َع َرَف ْت ُغ‬
his going down. Thou appointedst the darkness, and
there was the night, wherein all the beasts of the
‫بال تَ ْأزَُر‬ ِ ِ
ٌ ‫أش‬ ْ .‫وحوش الغاب‬ ‫جميع‬
ُ ‫تعُب ُر‬
ْ ‫ وفيه‬،‫لَْي ٌل‬
forest will go abroad; young lions roaring after their
َّ ‫أشرَق ِت‬ َ ِ‫طُل َب ِم َن هللا‬ ُ ‫لِتَ ْخ‬
prey, and seeking their food from God. The sun
ariseth, and they are gathered together, and they lay ‫مس‬ُ ‫الش‬ َ .‫عامها‬ َ ‫ط‬ ْ َ‫ف وت‬ َ‫ط‬
ِ ‫ وفي‬،‫فاجتَمع ْت‬
‫اإلنسان إلى‬ ‫ َي ْخ ُرُج‬.‫ضت‬ َ ‫ص َي ِرها َرَب‬
them down in their dens. Man shall go forth unto
his work, and to his labor until the evening. How ُ ََ
‫أعمالَ َك‬ ِِ ‫ص‬ ِ ‫عملِ ِه وإلى‬
magnified are Thy works, O Lord! In wisdom hast ْ ‫ظ َم‬ َ ‫أع‬
ْ ‫ ما‬.‫المساء‬ َ ‫ناعته حتى‬ َ ََ
‫األرض ِم ْن‬ ِ ‫ َق ِد امتَأل‬،‫صنع َت‬ ٍ ِ َّ
‫َت‬ ْ َ ‫ ُكلها ِبح ْك َمة‬،‫يا رب‬
Thou made them all. The earth is filled with Thy
creation. So is this great and spacious sea, wherein ُ ْ
‫ابات ال‬ ٌ ‫هناك َدّب‬ ،‫اس ُع‬ ِ ‫الكبير الو‬ ِ
َ ُ َ ‫الب ْح ُر‬ َ ‫ هذا‬.‫خلي َقت َك‬
are things creeping innumerable, small living
creatures with the great. There go the ships; there
‫ناك تَ ْج ِري‬ ِ ِ ٌ ‫ حيو‬،‫ع َدَد لَها‬
this leviathan, whom Thou hast made to play َ ‫ ُه‬.‫ار َم َع كبار‬ ٌ ‫انات ص َغ‬ ََ َ َ
‫اك‬ ِ
َ ‫ وكلها ّإي‬.‫ين الذي َخَل ْقتَ ُه َيْل َع ُب فيه‬ ُ ‫ هذا التّّن‬،‫السُف ُن‬
therein. All things wait on Thee, to give them their
food in due season; when Thou givest it them, they
‫ط ْيتَها‬ َ ‫أع‬ ِ ‫ لِتُعطيها طعامها في‬،‫تَتَرجَّى‬
ْ ‫أنت‬َ ‫ وإذا‬،‫حينه‬ َ َ ْ َ
will gather it. When Thou openest Thy hand, all

ُ ُ‫ك َف َي ْم َتلِئ‬
things shall be filled with goodness; when Thou
turnest away Thy face, they shall be troubled. Thou ‫وجه َك‬
َ ‫ف‬ ُ ‫ص ِر‬ ْ َ‫ ت‬،‫خي اًر‬ْ ‫الكل‬ َ ‫ تَْفتَ ُح َيد‬.‫جم َع ْت‬ َ
wilt take their spirit, and they shall cease; and unto
their dust shall they return. Thou wilt send forth
‫ وإلى تُ ارِب ِه ْم‬،‫اح ُه ْم َف َي ْف َن ْو َن‬ َ ‫ع أرو‬ ُ ‫ تَْن ِز‬.‫ط ِربون‬ َ‫ض‬ ْ ‫َف َي‬
Thy Spirit, and they shall be created; and Thou shalt ‫ وتُ َجِّدُد َو ْج َه‬،‫ون‬ َ ‫روح َك َفُيخلَُق‬ َ ‫ تُ ْرِس ُل‬.‫عون‬ َ ‫َي ْر ِج‬
ِّ ‫ لِ َي ُك ْن م ْجُد الر‬.‫األرض‬
renew the face of the earth. Let the glory of the Lord
be unto the ages; the Lord will rejoice in His works. ‫ َي ْف َرُح الرَّب‬،‫الده ِر‬ ْ ‫َّب إلى‬ َ
Who looketh on the earth and maketh it tremble, ،‫في ْج َعُلها تَ ْرتَ ِعُد‬ َ ‫ض‬ ِ ‫األر‬ ْ ‫ظ ُر إلى‬ ُ ‫ الذي َي ْن‬.‫بأعماله‬ ِ
Who toucheth the mountains and they smoke. I will
sing unto the Lord throughout my life, I will chant ‫ و َّأرِت ُل‬،‫َّب في َح َي ِاتي‬ َّ ‫ُسّبِ ُح الر‬ ِ
َ ‫ أ‬.‫الجبال فتَُد ّخ ُن‬ َ ‫وي َمس‬ َ
ِ َّ
َ ‫ وأنا‬،‫ َيل ُذ لَ ُه تَأملي‬.ً‫إلل ِهي ما ُد ْم ُت َم ْوجودا‬
‫أفرُح‬
to my God for as long as I have my being. May my
words be sweet unto Him; I will rejoice in the Lord.
.‫ وال ْيب َق فيها األثَ َمة‬،‫األرض‬ ِ ‫الخطأةُ ِم َن‬ َ ‫ لِتَِب ِد‬.‫َّب‬ ِّ ‫بالر‬
O that sinners would cease from the earth, and they

that work iniquity, that they should be no more.
Bless the Lord, O my soul. The sun knoweth his ‫ َج َع َل‬،‫روبها‬ َ ‫الش ْم ُس َع َرَف ْت ُغ‬ َّ .‫َّب‬ ّ ‫بارِكي يا نفس َي الر‬ ِ
going down. Thou appointedst the darkness, and
there was the night. How magnified are Thy works,
‫ كلَّها‬،‫ظ َم أعمالَ َك يا رب‬ َ ‫ ما أع‬.‫فكان لَْي ٌل‬ َ ‫ظْل َم َة‬ُ ‫ال‬
ٍ ِ
.‫ص َن ْع َت‬ َ ‫بِح ْك َمة‬
O Lord! In wisdom hast Thou made them all.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy ‫ان‬ٍ ‫وك َّل أو‬ ُ ‫اآلن‬ َ ،‫س‬ ِ ‫االب ِن والرو ِح الُق ُد‬ ْ ‫آلب و‬ ِ ِ‫الم ْجُد ل‬
Spirit; both now and ever, and unto ages of ages. َ

Deacon: For our country, its president (or

appropriate head of state), civil authorities and

Deacon: For this city and every city and
countryside and the faithful who dwell therein, let

Deacon: For healthful seasons, abundance of the
fruits of the earth and peaceful times, let us pray

to the Lord. .‫طُلب‬ ْ ‫َّب َن‬ ْ ِ ‫بالث‬

Deacon: For travelers by sea, by land and by air,
the sick, the suffering, the captive, and for their

salvation, let us pray to the Lord. َ ‫األس َرى‬ ْ ‫ و‬،‫يين‬ َ ‫ضن‬ َ َْ

َ ‫َج ِل َنجاتنا ِم ْن ُك ِّل ضي ٍق َو َغ‬

Deacon: For our deliverance from all tribulation,
ِّ ‫ إلى الر‬،‫ط ٍر وِش َد ٍة‬
wrath, danger and necessity, let us pray to the

immaculate, most blessed and glorious Lady, the
Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary, with all the َ َ َ

saints, let us commend ourselves and each other ُ ‫وب ْع‬
َ ‫أنف َسنا‬ ُ ‫ع‬ ْ ‫نود‬ ّ ‫ َم َع جمي ِع‬،‫َم ْرَي َم‬
.‫حياتنا لِْل َمسي ِح اإلله‬ ِ ‫بعضاً وُك َّل‬

and all our life unto Christ our God.

heart; for being a man, and having unclean lips, I

Ye shall hear indeed, but understand not; and see
indeed, but perceive not. For the heart of this
