The Vice-Chancellor's List is for academic excellence and comprises students who have been selected from the top one per cent (1%) of a
course for a given study period.

An award with Distinction is granted by the Board of Examiners in recognition of outstanding performance in the course.

An award with Honours can be earned either as the outcome of a year of study that is additional to a bachelor degree or as the outcome of an
honours program that is studied concurrently with a normal pass degree of four years or more.

A Course Weighted Average (CWA) is a calculation of a student's weighted average percentage mark for all Grade/Mark units in which the
student is enrolled in a course, including units credited as Automatic Credit or Designated Credit.
The formula used for calculating CWA is [Sum (Unit Credits x Mark)]/[Sum (Unit Credits)]

With effect from 28 February 2006, Automatic Credit and Designated Credit is included in the calculation of the CWA. Automatic Credit and
Designated Credit is not included in the calculation prior to this date.

Curtin University does not use or calculate a Grade Point Average (GPA). However, under the Curtin University Grading system, a CWA of 0.00 is
the minimum, a CWA of 50.00 is the mid-point and a CWA of 100.00 is the maximum, and this scale may be used to calculate an equvalent GPA.

More information on the University Grading System, University Policies and the Vice-Chancellor 's List can be found at http://www.curtin.edu.au/

From 2015 Codes and some Titles have changed. New alpha-numeric codes have replaced existing numeric codes (Course, Major, Stream, Unit
and Thesis). Students may have a combination of old and new codes and/or unit titles on their Academic Record.

Students completing their award prior to August 2017 will have their award conferred under the name Curtin University of Technology.
