 Identify and describe parts of a right triangle
I. OBJECTIVES  Apply the right triangle similarity theorem to find the missing
measure.
 Appreciate the value of right triangle similarity theorem in real-life
situation.

The Brgy. Chairman of Dugong would like to put a path from the
corner of Manga and Bayabas streets to Lanzones Street. What is the
shortest path if Manga and Bayabas streets are perpendicular? How
long is the path if BD is 18 meters and AD is 32 meters?

The shortest path from the point C to AB is the line segment from C
perpendicular to AB. This is the altitude CD of ∆ BDC ∆ CDA .
