Summary:
The Farm Laborer (Broiler Production) plays a vital role in the day-to-day care and management
of broiler chickens. This role involves performing a variety of manual tasks to ensure the health,
well-being, and efficient production of broilers.
Responsibilities:
Assist with chick placement in broiler houses, ensuring proper chick handling and distribution.
Maintain clean and sanitary broiler house environment through litter management (adding,
removing, and turning bedding material).
Deliver and monitor feed and water availability for broilers, ensuring proper feeder and waterer
function.
Observe broiler health and behavior, reporting any signs of illness or injury to the Farm
Manager.
Collect and dispose of dead birds according to biosecurity protocols.
Assist with catching birds for processing, following safe handling procedures.
Clean and disinfect broiler houses and equipment between flocks to prevent disease spread.
Perform other general farm maintenance tasks as assigned by the Farm Manager.
Maintain accurate records of daily activities, such as feed and water usage, bird mortality, and
cleaning procedures (if required).
Additional Duties:
Depending on the farm size and operation, farm laborers may also assist with minor repairs to
broiler houses and equipment.

successful operation of a broiler farm. This role assists the Farm Manager with various technical
tasks related to broiler care, data collection, equipment maintenance, and biosecurity protocols.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Farm Manager in developing and implementing broiler production plans, including
flock schedules, brooding procedures, feed and water management programs, and biosecurity
protocols.
Operate and maintain basic farm equipment related to broiler production (feeders, waterers,
environmental control systems).
Monitor and maintain optimal broiler house environment (temperature, ventilation, humidity,
and lighting) following established protocols.
Assist with chick placement, catching birds for processing, and other broiler care tasks as
needed.
Collect and record farm data, including bird growth rates, feed consumption, mortality rates,
and medication usage.
Analyze farm data to identify potential issues and assist the Farm Manager in implementing
corrective actions.
Assist with maintaining biosecurity protocols to prevent disease outbreaks in the broiler flock.
Perform basic preventative maintenance on farm equipment and report any major repairs
needed to the Farm Manager.
Stay up-to-date on best practices in broiler production, poultry health, and biosecurity
measures.
Assist with training new farm staff on broiler production practices and biosecurity protocols.
