General Information for the practice schedule

For example you have a picking lick, played with 16th notes on 160 bpm you can see every
approach like this:

Muscle Memory: start with 120 and go up 10 bpm after 5 Minutes. Within 25 minutes you are
at your end tempo. (If this is to hard for you, start with 100 and go up in the upcoming
weeks)

Burst Method 1: Play the Lick on 160 bpm, take a individual chunk and switch between half
time and normal time.

Burst Method 2: Play the Lick on 160 bpm and divide the chunk in smaller patterns and
movements.

Individual 1: Take the “Muscle Memory” approach but only play the right hand (while muting
with the left).

Individual 2: Take the “Burst Method 2” approach but only play the right hand (while muting
with the left).

Brute Force: Try to pick on one string on 180 - 200 bpm. GO TO YOUR LIMIT!!!

Stamina Ex.: Try to pick on one string on 120 bpm for 3-5 minutes without a break.

Recording: Always record yourself, with this you can focus better on certain things you can’t
while practicing (timing, sound, etc.) The best method for analyzing yourself and see where
you stand at the moment.

Practice the lick for 2 month, always be aware that every lick you practice with a lot of
patience and consistency will make other licks easier as well. So TAKE YOUR TIME!
