Chapter1 Production Introduction

1.1 Overview
The under vehicle surveillance system (hereinafter referred to as UVSS) introduced in this manual
is used to scan and capture images of vehicle undercarriage. Users can use dedicated client
software or call SDK to collect images and achieve system interconnection.

1.2 System Features

 HD optical lens and high-performance line scan sensor to provide clear images and minimize
image distortion
 180° field of view to detect each corner of vehicle undercarriage
 Transparent housing made of high-performance optical materials and multi-layer ultra-hard

in image
 Up to 10 MP image output, tiled display of multiple images
 Professional speed detection system with strong anti-interference capability to precisely scan
vehicles regardless of vehicle speed
 High-power LED light with high brightness, high uniformity, high stability and quick response
 Modularized design for easy upgrade, convenient maintenance, and multi-layer defense
 Anti-fog design, effectively avoiding poor imaging caused by fog in housing
 prevent poor imaging caused by fog in housing
 IP68, pressure and shock resistance, adaption to all weather
 Linkage between image and radio frequency, vehicle license plate or other vehicle information,
easy access to third-party management platform or application to link image

1.3 Structure
With highly integrated modules, the UVSS is characteristic of compact structure, light weight and
small size. It is mainly composed of a fixed under vehicle surveillance device (main body) and a
control cabinet.

1.5 Working Process

The UVSS supports bi-directional detection. The location of the product and vehicle driving
direction are shown below.

Figure 1-5 Driving Direction

When a vehicle stops above the UVSS, the photoelectric module 1 will be triggered and the speed
detection module will stand by, waiting to send capture command to the camera after detecting
vehicle move. It can also send back vehicle speed in real time to adjust line frequency of the
camera, so as to reduce image distortion.
During capturing, the LED supplement light will keep on to brighten up vehicle undercarriage.

9
Hikvision Fixed Under Vehicle Surveillance System User Manual

After the vehicle passes through the photoelectric module 2, a command to stop capturing will be
sent out. The client will then composite images, which will be cached in visual controller for
further information linkage or calling.

Chapter 4 FAQ

Question Answer

The license plate No. is shown 1. The vehicle has no license plate, or the license plate is
unrecognized in the software. covered.
2. If you can see the license plate from the vehicle body
image, then it is the capture camera that fails to
recognize the license plate. In video detection mode, the
recognition rate of capture camera is around 98%.

The license plate is cropped It is a normal phenomenon. It is possible for the license plate
incorrectly from the captured to be cropped from the wrong position of the captured
image, but the license plate No. image.
can be seen.

The detected vehicle It is caused by mixed results of two vehicles. If a vehicle

undercarriage image and the enters the detection area before the detection result of the
captured images of vehicle body last vehicle is generated, the images of the two vehicles
and license plate do not match. might be mixed up, leading to a mismatch between detected
under vehicle images and captured images of vehicle body
and license plate. To avoid such errors, you need to control
the distance between two vehicles at the customs pass. If the
under vehicle detection system is triggered by inductive
loops, you also need to prevent electronic mobiles and large
metals from entering the inductive area to avoid false
triggering.
