When a vehicle stops above the UVSS, the photoelectric module 1 will be triggered and the speed
detection module will stand by, waiting to send capture command to the camera after detecting
vehicle move. It can also send back vehicle speed in real time to adjust line frequency of the
camera, so as to reduce image distortion.
During capturing, the LED supplement light will keep on to brighten up vehicle undercarriage.
9
Hikvision Fixed Under Vehicle Surveillance System User Manual
After the vehicle passes through the photoelectric module 2, a command to stop capturing will be
sent out. The client will then composite images, which will be cached in visual controller for
further information linkage or calling.

record, or right-click to add it to the black/white list or tag the record. Tagged images will be
locked in the storage and not be deleted during system clearing. Tags can be canceled.
Region 5: Current vehicle information, including license plate No., inspection time, black/white
list status, and client system message.
Region 6: Status bar, displaying connection status of line scan camera and capture camera, disk
space usage, and system time. Green icon indicates that the camera is connected; red indicates
that camera connection fails.

3.3.3 View
You can select Uniform, Uniform to Fill, or Fill as needed. Meanwhile, Original Proportion, Auto
Proportion, and Fixed Proportion are selectable.
Original Proportion: default settings; used only when vehicle speed is around 10 km/h.
Auto Proportion: image display proportion will be adjusted automatically based on the
recognized vehicle model.
Fixed Proportion: used only when the speed detection module is prohibited.

3.3.4 Tools
The sub-menu of Tools includes Settings, Image, and Print.
Save Image: set save path of vehicle undercarriage, vehicle body, and license plate images.
The save path cannot contain space, since other auxiliary software will be started directly
on this client to open images.
View Proportion: set image display proportion in client, which is in line with the
proportion set in View.

Server Setting: include Host IP Addr, Host IP Port, File Server Port, SDK Port, User Name,
and Password. The Host IP address is 0.0.0.0 by default, but you need to change it for first
use of the software. Otherwise, the images of the UVSS cannot be visited via SDK or Web.
You can select IP in the dropdown list and click Save to set IP. Keep the defaults for Host IP
Port, File Server Port, and SDK Port.
Data Capacity: set lower limit of space, which ranges from 1,000 MB to 15,000 MB. When
the remaining disk space is lower than the limit, the system will clear the first 20 untagged
images automatically. When there is only 500 MB left to reach the limit, the system will
prompt you to clean manually first.

Chapter 4 FAQ
Question Answer
The license plate No. is shown 1. The vehicle has no license plate, or the license plate is
unrecognized in the software. covered.
2. If you can see the license plate from the vehicle body
image, then it is the capture camera that fails to
recognize the license plate. In video detection mode, the
recognition rate of capture camera is around 98%.
The license plate is cropped It is a normal phenomenon. It is possible for the license plate
incorrectly from the captured to be cropped from the wrong position of the captured
image, but the license plate No. image.
can be seen.
The vehicle undercarriage image It is likely that the vehicle drove away from the detection
is incomplete or distorted. area during scanning. To get a normal vehicle undercarriage
image, vehicles need to pass the detection area straightly at
a speed within the supported range.
Login to the capture camera fails. Check IP address, port, user name, and password of the
capture camera. If you enter passwords wrongly for many
times, the capture camera will be locked and login will be
forbidden. You can login to the device on IE browser and
then restart it to solve the problem.
