The entrance test for admission into DM/M.Ch./MD Hospital Administration Courses at
Institutes of National Importance (INI) for Medical Education namely, AIIMS-New Delhi
and all new AIIMS, JIPMER-Puducherry, PGIMER-Chandigarh, NIMHANS-Bengaluru and
Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences & Technology- Thiruvananthapuram is
held twice in a year for January and July session of respective year. The common
entrance test is known as Institute of National Importance Super-Specialty Entrance Test
(INI-SS).
3. Administration
3.1. AIIMS, New Delhi is the authority for deciding of all aspects related to Combined Entrance
Test such as application, conduct of exam, declaration of results. Seat Allocation is done by
AIIMS New Delhi as per policy, rules & regulations of respective INI’s.
3.2. Seat allocation &Admission into any of the participating INI will be governed by the rules and
regulation of respective Institute as applicable and will be administered by the Head of
Institutions of respective INIs (the details are mentioned in Part B of the Prospectus of INI-SS,
July 2024).
3.3. In case of any ambiguity in interpretation of any of the instructions/ terms/ rules/criteria
regarding the determination of eligibility/conduct of examinations/ registration of
candidates/ information contained herein, the matter will be decided at the discretion of the
Director, AIIMS, New Delhi and same shall be final and binding in nature.
3.4. All disputes with regards to any matter referred to herein shall be subjected to the
jurisdiction of Delhi Courts only.
3.5. Any dispute/court matter on seat position & admission criteria shall be handled by
respective INI’S
4.2. Eligibility

Upper Age limit is 35 years as on 1st July, 2024, i.e. Born on or after 01.07.1989
Upper Age limit is 45 years as on 1st July, 2024, i.e. Born on or after 01.07.1979
Upper Age limit is 37 years as on 1st July, 2024, i.e. Born on or after 01.07.1987
Upper Age limit is 40 years as on 1 st July, 2024, i.e. Born on or after 01.07.1984
5.2. Eligibility
(1) The candidate must possess MBBS or an equivalent degree (As per NMC)
(2) Must possess minimum experience of three years in a Govt. Hospital in the relevant field
or five years in general practice. A certificate issued by the District Magistrate in support
of the general practice claimed should be uploaded.
(3) Candidates belonging to UR/OBC/EWS/Sponsored must have obtained 55% in aggregate
in all MBBS Professional Examinations. Candidates belonging to SC/ST must have obtained
a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in all MBBS professional.
(4) Must be registered with Central /State Medical Registration Council.
(5) The candidates who have already done MD/MS or equivalent are not eligible for this
course.
Graduated from Foreign Universities: Indian National candidates who have been graduated
from foreign Universities must fill their NMC screening exam marks in percentage in the online
form. Candidate must have obtained marks as mentioned above in FMGE exam conducted by
NBE any other authority of Govt. of India, Delhi.
5.3. Other Terms & Conditions
The candidates must have completed the requisite qualification, degree and experience by
31.07.2024. The candidates who are likely to complete their requisite qualification, degree
and experience after 31.07.2024 will not be eligible to appear in this examination.
Under MD (Hospital Administration) seat that remains unfilled in reserved category will be
converted in open round (if any) as per following:
1. EWS seats to UR
2. OBC seats to UR
3. ST seats to SC and if still unfilled, to UR
4. SC seats to ST and if still unfilled, to UR
a) Candidate must secure 50 percent (%) or more marks in Stage-I[as per the
decision of the meeting of the 116th Academic Committee (item
No.AC/116/10 dated 06.03.2018)].
b) Candidate must have applied in online registration for AIIMS/PGIMER
Chandigarh seats in respective specialty/course.
c) Candidate must be eligible as per eligibility criteria of AIIMS/PGIMER Chandigarh.
d) Out of the candidates who fulfil above criteria, candidates- 3(three) times the
number of seats advertised for AIIMS/PGIMER Chandigarh Combined OR
2(two) times the total number of seats in AIIMS/PGIMER Chandigarh & other
INIs whichever is higher or as decided by the competent authority at the time
of declaration of result will be called for departmental clinical/practical/lab-
based assessment (carrying 20 marks) related to sub-
specialty/systems/component of the specialty/course for which the candidate
has applied in respective department at AIIMS, New Delhi.
e) To qualify for AIIMS/PGIMER Chandigarh Seat allocation a candidate must
obtain 50 percent (%) or more marks in Stage-I & Stage-II combined.
f) In case a candidate gets marks more than 50 percent (%) in Stage-I but less
than 50 percent (%) marks in Stage I & II combined, he/she will not be treated
as qualified for AIIMS/PGIMER Chandigarh Seats.
g) Candidates called for departmental assessment (Stage – II) and remain absent
in Stage – II, he/she will not be treated as qualified for AIIMS/PGIMER
Chandigarh Seats.
7. Other Instructions
7.1. General
a. Any candidate applying for any course will be deemed to have read the information
brochure/prospectus, notices published in website.
b. In case of any ambiguity in interpretation of any of the instructions/ terms/
rules/criteria regarding the determination of eligibility/conduct of examinations/
registration of candidates/ information contained herein, the matter will be decided
at the discretion of the Director, AIIMS, New Delhi and same shall be final and binding
c. Any wrong information provided by the candidate on same may invite disciplinary
action including debarment from future examination.
d. AIIMS, New Delhi reserves its right to alter, amend, modify or apply any or some of
the instructions/ guidelines contained in this information brochure.
e. Candidature is liable to be cancelled in case of any discrepancy detected at any stage
regarding eligibility even after grant of admission
OCI candidates are not required to obtain NOC, however must upload the scan
v. The foreign nationals will be considered against the seats advertised for
DM/M.Ch. & MD (Hospital Administration) Entrance Examination courses as per
rules applicable at respective participating Institute. They should be registered
with NMC before they will be allowed to join the said course, if they are selected
for the same.
vi. Seats are not reserved in any discipline for foreign nationals (except the bilateral
agreement between the Government of India and any other nation).
vii. Nominations/No objection for the candidate should reach the Examination
* Although AIIMS will make all efforts to ensure that the candidate is allotted a centre in
the cities chosen by the applicant, if due to circumstances such as lack of sufficient
number of candidates, logistic, administrative and other reasons, an Examination Centre
in another city may be allotted finally. The cities may be added or removed, if deemed
1. The persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) defined under section 2(r) of the RPWD Act,
2016.
A. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities in the categories of blindness, locomotor disability (both
arms affected – BA) and cerebral palsy will be provided with the facility of a scribe if desired
by the person against self-undertaking as per Appendix A Part A-1.
B. The PwBD candidates in the category of blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected-
BA) and cerebral palsy are allowed Compensatory Time of twenty minutes per hour of the
examination if desired by the person against self-undertaking as per Appendix A Part A-1.
C. In the case of other categories of Persons with Benchmark Disabilities as defined under
section 2(r) of the RPWD Act, 2016, the facility of scribe / Compensatory time will be allowed
to such applicants on the production of a certificate to the effect that the person concerned
2. The persons with specified disabilities covered under the definition of section 2(s) of the RPWD
Act, 2016 but not covered under the definition of section 2 (r) of the said Act, i.e. persons
having less than 40% disability and having difficulty in writing.
A. In the case of those with less than Benchmark disabilities as defined under section 2(r) of the
RPWD Act, 2016, the facility of scribe and or / Compensatory time shall be granted solely to those
having difficulty in writing subject to the production of a certificate to the effect that the person
concerned has physical limitation to write and that scribe is essential to write examination on
his/her behalf from the competent medical authority of a Government Health Care institution as

1. All required certificates must be submitted within due dates as specified in the Important
Dates section of this document, failing which no facilities will be provided on the day of
examination.
2. The applicants have the discretion of opting for his/her scribe or requesting the Examination
Section for the same and should indicate their choice at the time of Completion of the
Application for the Test.
3. In case the applicant opts for his/her own scribe, then additional information related to the
scribe will be sought from the applicant before the examination. The qualification of the scribe
provided by the Examination Section and own scribe will be one step below the minimum
qualification criteria of the Test (i.e. one step below MBBS/ equivalent medical degree).
However, the qualification of the scribe will always be matriculated or above. If the applicant
has opted for his/her own scribe and does not bring own scribe on the day of the examination,
then it will not be possible for AIIMS to arrange a new scribe.
4. If the applicant has opted for his/her own scribe, the Remuneration/Honorarium/TA will be
the applicant’s sole responsibility.
5. The Scribe can render only assistance to the candidate, i.e., reading instructions, test paper
and mouse clicks, if the candidate is not able to do so. Explanation/Interpretation of question
paper is strictly prohibited and may result in cancellation of the candidature.
6. All persons eligible for scribe and/or compensatory as described above shall be provided
compensatory time of not less than 20 minutes per hour of examination. In case the
examination is less than an hour, the duration of compensatory time should be allowed on a
pro-rata basis. Compensatory time should not be less than 5 minutes and should be in
multiple of 5.

All communication with the Examination Section, AIIMS, New Delhi in relation
to INI-SS, July 2024 must be done through the methods described under Section
XI of the Part A of the Prospectus.
Provided that no penalty under this section shall be imposed except after: —
10. Disclaimer
Institute of National Importance Super-Specialty Entrance Test (INI-SS) for admission in DM, M.Ch.
& MD Hospital Administration courses is just a common examination conducted in larger public
interest as per approval of competent authorities at all participating INI. The INI SS Entrance Test
does not intend or make any changes in any rules related to creation & notification of seats,
allocation rules, admission rules and other applicable rules and practices at respective participating
INI. For any issue on admission & allocation rules individuals shall contact nodal officer of
respective INI.
Note:
1. While sponsoring the candidates, the Central/State Government/Defence Authorities /PSU/ Autonomous Bodies should furnish a certificate
prescribed for this purpose duly completed and signed by the competent authority.
2. The 'Sponsorship Certificate' should must be filled properly only in the given format, failing which the application will not be considered
under the Sponsored Category. In case any discrepancy found in online data with Sponsorship certificate valid information as in
Sponsorship certificate will be accepted as per eligibility criteria.
3. Applicable for PGIMER, Chandigarh only
a. * In addition to type of organization mentioned at 2 (a) to (d), Sponsoring/deputation will also be accepted from
Government Medical College affiliated to a University and recognized by the Medical Council/Dental Council of India. In case of
candidates deputed/sponsored by Medical College affiliated to a University and recognized by the Medical Council of India, the
deputation/ sponsorship certificate signed by the Principal of Medical College concerned only shall be accepted.
b. The Sponsoring Institution should not nominate more than one candidate for a specialty/super specialty.

Note: All persons taking scribe as above will be allowed compensatory time.

Certificate should be given by a specialist of the relevant stream / disability (e.g.
Visual impairment- Ophthalmologist, Locomotor disability- Orthopedic specialist/

date as mentioned in the prospectus in addition to this, failing which the above
facilities may not be provided.

∞One seat in DM infectious diseases for AIIMS Jodhpur is reserved for candidates with MD/DNB in
Microbiology and One seat is reserved for candidates with MD/DNB in Medicine/Paediatrics/Tropical
Medicine.
# The Seats advertised under Sponsored Category will be available for allocation for candidates
applying as Sponsored or Foreign, National/OCI at AIIMS New Delhi & other AIIMS, SCTIMST. For
PGIMER Chandigarh, NIMHANS and JIPMER Puducherry seats in respective category will be available
only for candidates applying in respective category only.
©If there are no applicants of M.CH-Neurosurgery & DM-Neurology under sponsored category in
NIMHANS, The seat will be filled by ‘Unreserved Category’ under the ‘institute stipendiary category
of ‘Post MS/DNB Category’)
Note: -
Seats are strictly non-convertible/non interchangeable between different groups unless expressly
mentioned as per rules applicable at any of the participating INI.
Any seat remaining vacant in respective groups (General Seats, Sponsored Seats & Foreign National
Seats) shall be filled subsequently as per rules applicable at respective INIs.
