1 Description
This manual describes the connection between battery and battery charger CH9 using connectors Anderson
SBE320 series with auxiliary pins for SmartCan connection and Pilot detection.

The connection between battery and CH9 is below summarized:

Connection Charger CH9 – Battery

The charger is provided with SBE320 connector. The auxiliary signals, 2 for SMARTCAN connection (in green) and 2
for PILOT connection (in yellow) are fitted in 4 pins (2 male and 2 female) located on a black block mounted on the
middle of the connector. Below the picture of the CHARGER CH9 connector

On the other side (on Battery) the connection is mirrored like in the next picture
Below the auxiliary pin position of the BATTERY SIDE connector

The SmartCan is provided with socket on Red and Blues wires of the serial cable and with a black block with the
already fitted jumper for Pilot detection.

Here below the instructions to mount the auxiliary sockets soldered on SmartCan wires on a SBE320 connector
already mounted on a battery.

ATTENTION! Before start working on battery connector, disconnect the two power wires
from battery

2 Assembly procedure
Insert the SmartCan cable with soldered sockets through the connector plastic body:

Insert the sockets in the holes of the block, keeping the red wire near the center of the block, as in the following
picture

Use a blade of a little screwdriver to insert completely the socket in the hole. The socket insertion is quite hard at the
end, so you should hear a “click” when the socket will be correctly inserted.

The following pictures show the right position of the sockets from insertion and external point of view

Gently try to extract the sockets just inserted in order to verify if they are correctly blocked in the right position.

Now you have just to insert the black block in the right position of the SBE320 housing and blocking it with the
provided clip. Please, pay attention on completely insert the clip, like in the last picture.
