must look out for the traffic lights!
- Red = Stop/freeze, Orange/yellow = Hopping/Jumping/Get ready, Green =
Go/move
- As soon as they see a traffic light being held up by the teacher they must
follow that action.

Jumping moves)
- Add further instructions: Handbrake = Sit down, pointy toes & feet Reverse
= Move backwards Bridge = Crawl
- Add Police to catch cars.
Activities –
occer Drills:
S
Demonstrate all skills! (dribbling, stopping the ball, and all the games)
1. Cone to cone (5 min)
- Set up two lines of cones, about a meter or toe apart
- Partner the students up in groups of two
- Have each pair stand by one cone
- The first student in line is going to walk and kick the soccer ball to the
other cone
- Once they get to the other side they will stop the ball by placing their
foot on top of the ball the turn around
- They will then do the same thing back to where they started and let
the next student go.
2. Kicking to the wall (5 min)
- Using the inside of their foot to kick the ball towards the wall.
- Now use the sole of your foot to trap the ball.
- See if they can kick with one foot and trap with the other.
- If ready, let them take a step back and try again, kicking the ball
harder.
- Repeat until ready to try with a partner.
3. Kicking to a partner (5 min)
- In the same set up and partnerships have the students stand on their
own cones.
- Have one student start with the ball and kick it slowly to the other
partner.
- The partner stops the ball, they then will practice stopping it by
putting their foot on top of the ball.
- Then have the partner who just stopped the ball return it by slowly
kicking it back to their partner.
4. Kicking to a goal (5 min)
- Set up 3-4 goals next to each other.
- Have cones set up where they start and also have a cone to where they
need to shoot from.
- Have students dribble up to the cone and trap their ball with the sole
of their foot and then take a shot on goal.
- Have students go and grab their ball and carry it back to the starting
cone.
- Once they have gone through a couple times, now let them try and
dribble and kick straight into the goal.
5. Red light, green light (10 min)
- Have students spread out across the gym all with their own soccer ball
- When you say green light let them dribble to ball around until you say
red light
- When you say red light, you want to see students stop their ball by
stepping on it with their foot
- If you say red light and they do not stop, have them do 5 jumping
jacks or star jumps
- Once they have done their exercise they are back in the game
6. Animal round up (10 min)
- Have 6 different colored hula hoops spread out around the outside of
the gym. Each hula hoop will have a cone with a picture of an animal
on it.
- Bring the students together and tell them they are zookeepers today
and explain that all the animals got out last night.
- H ave a variety of gator balls and indoor soccer balls and dump them
out.
- The only way the students can get the “animals” back to their
enclosure is by dribbling the ball with their feet.
- Once all the “animals” are back in the enclosure the game is over!
