To lay down the procedure for cleaning of Fourier Transform Infra Red
Spectrophotometer.

This SOP shall be applicable for Fourier Transform Infra Red Spectrophotometer
installed in Quality Control Laboratory.  AUDIT 16 POSTS

 CLEANING 3 POSTS

PROCEDURE
 FACEMASK 10 POSTS
• Frequency: Daily or after each use
• Open the front part of the instrument.  GPAT 1 POSTS

• Wipe out any material in the sample holder assembly by means of tissue paper.
 HUMAN RESOURCES 6 POSTS
•Clean all the sampling accessories with tissue paper after analysis and keep
them in proper place.  INTERVIEW 9 POSTS

• Clean the outer surface of the instrument with tissue paper.  STERILE 4 POSTS
• Place the ‘self indicating’ coarse silica gel in the sample holding assembly
 VALIDATION 34 POSTS
•If the colour of the silica gel changes from blue to pink, regenerate the silica gel
by keeping it in oven for some time till it gets blue color again.
• After completion of cleaning of the FTIR, record the cleaning details in instrument USP 2021 (United State Pharmacopeia
44 - NF 39)
