Engine Out Standard Instrument Departure
- To explain in which conditions the design of an EOSID can be of interest for takeoff
- To highlight the multiplicity of such studies, and the various cases that can be expected
- To review the regulatory background and to present the Airbus analysis methods
- To review the use of the necessary performance software to conduct such studies
- To practice through several operational guided examples, using topographic maps, departure charts and performance
software

Route Study
To highlight the problem caused by a pressurization or an engine failure while overflying a mountainous area
- To present the different oxygen systems and their constraints
- To review the regulatory background and to present the Airbus analysis methods
- To review the use of the necessary performance software to conduct such studies
- To practice through several operational guided examples, using topographic maps, navigation maps and performance
software
Duration: 3 days
Applicable: All aircraft
ETOPS
To lay the stress on regulatory background and initial route study (FAR/JAR)
To highlight the problem of adequate airports, weather minima, icing contingencies
To detail fuel calculation methods and dispatch conditions
Note: Even if workshops essentially cover 2 engines aircraft, lectures also address 4 engines specificities.

Prerequisites
- Qualified engineers familiar with flight operations, performance topics and computerized calculation techniques, in particular
PEP modules FM, TLO, OFP, IFP. In order to achieve sufficient knowledge of PEP, trainees should have previously attended
the Performance Engineering modules of the “Basic Performance Engineer” course and use PEP in their daily activities.
- English Language ICAO Proficiency Rating of 4, 5 or 6
- Fluency in English (able to write, read and communicate at an adequately understandable level in English language)
