RE: Changes to MAS Swimming Competitions in 2024

With reference to the above, we wish to advise on the upcoming changes to all MAS Swimming
Competitions from 2024 onwards.

1. 2024 MAS Calendar v.1a

Kindly find attached the 2024 MAS Calendar v.1a (6 Dec 2023) for your perusal and further planning.

2. Age Groups
Date of Age Reckoning for age groups will now be calculated as of 31st December in the year of
competition.

Age Groups for 2024 will be calculated as follows:

Age Groups Ages Year of Birth

OPEN 19 - 30 years 1994 to 2005

Group 1 16 – 18 years 2006, 2007, 2008

Group 2 14 – 15 years 2009, 2010

Group 3 12 – 13 years 2011, 2012

Group 4 11 years & under 2013 or later

3. Additional Events, Additional Age Groups and Compulsory Events

MAS Swimming Competitions will now consist of the full programme of swimming events (individual)
and include Group 1 and Open age groups.

Malaysian swimmers in Groups 2, 3, and 4 will have compulsory events - namely 100m Freestyle,
200m Freestyle, and 200m Individual Medley.
 The full list of events and compulsory events are listed in the Table below:

4. SportExcel Circuit and Splash Swim Series (formerly Junior Splash)

The SportExcel Circuit competitions and Splash Swim Series will now also include Groups 1 and Open
and host the full programme of swimming events (individual).

Compulsory events for Groups 2, 3, and 4 will NOT apply to the Splash Swim Series.

5. Meeting/Forum
There will be a meeting/forum to update on the plans moving forward, as follows:
