In the same, in a thesis presented by Halperin (2018), in his conclusion, he

states that “Culture and place give design a reference point, an origin that gives
it either a comforting familiarity or an intriguing strangeness. Incorporating these
cultural and locational elements into one’s design ensures that there is diversity
in the design world as varying ideologies about form and function can share a
stage”. Hence, cultural influences are required in the planning process, as
elucidated by Vijay Kumar, et.al., (2014) and Halperin (2018). This highlights a
fundamental truth that diversity drives more creativity and adaptation of the
current and existing conditions. Cultural differences provide a fertile ground for
creative exploration and create a more inclusive and diverse design environment.
The significance of culture, or the way of life, is reflected and represented by the
structures that were built and preserved (De Burca, 2023).
