Problem Presentation – Design Thinking Sprint Event

Background:

Singapore is among the fastest growing Smart City initiators in South East Asia.
Over the past few years, Singapore has established itself as a Smart Nation. This
means that many factors across the country will have an effect on how Singapore
manages and improve the Smart City structure. The industry in Singapore is
constantly hiring resources locally and abroad. This has created a huge manpower
involved in hiring and managing work permits and onboarding processes.

Challenge:

For this Design Thinking challenge, research and analyse the current situation and
challenges in Singapore’s work force hiring processes and work permit system.

The solution should be able to filter the applications by matching applicants to jobs
while simultaneously process the possible permits. The generation of contracts and
transcripts should be automated using a blockchain technology platform and
integrating industry with Government institutions (MOM). This solution should ensure
personal data security by applying blockchain technology.
