1. Instruction
BRLink is the Bluetooth driver developed by Barrot wireless for Windows, supporting
Bluetooth music, hands-free calling, Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, Bluetooth
gamepad, file transfer and other applications.
This driver supports WIN7 32-bit, WIN7 64-bit, WIN10 32-bit, WIN10 64-bit operating
system, and passes Microsoft driver certification.
This document illustrates how to install and use BRLink driver installation.
2. Install
2.1. Plug in Dongle

It needs to plug in dongle before installation in order to identify the device during
installation.

2.2. Close all anti-virus software

BRLink needs to register system services during installation, which may be mistaken
by anti-virus software as a risk to the system. The anti-virus software blocks the

process of registration service, resulting in service registration failure and Bluetooth

startup failure. Therefore, you are advised to exit the antivirus software before
installation. After installation completes, you can restart the antivirus software.

Open BRLink install package, and click“setup.exe” in the root directory. Following
pictures below to start installation.

3. User instruction
3.1. Enter discoverable mode
It usually long press the power button for a few seconds after it is turned on to make

earphones enter discoverable modes; Keyboards’ is similar. Some mouses may need
to switch between 2.4G and Bluetooth mode, please refer to the product description.
Smart phones have an option to enter discoverable mode, and this mode has time
limit. Therefore, you must ensure to search nearby devices with BRlink within the
device discoverable mode time limit.

3.2. Add device

Right-click the Bluetooth icon in the computer taskbar, and the menu shown as
Figure 12 will appear. Click "Add bluetooth device".

If the device to be searched is not in the list, click “Search Device” to search for the

3.3. Device pairing

After the device is found, double-click the device to pairing. The pairing dialog box
may pop up. Click “OK” to continue. For some devices, you may need to enter a pair

code. Refer to device instructions. The usual pair codes are “1234”or “0000”.

3.4. Connect
After pairing succeeds, it automatically shows device list. It usually includes following
device types. Different device type supports different functions.
3.4.1. Connect earphone/speakers

Open computer control panel, enter device management, and click "Connect" button
to connect Bluetooth mono service or Bluetooth high-quality audio service.

 Hands-free calling
Choose connect to "Bluetooth Mono service". After the connection is established,

you can make WeChat, QQ and other voice calls on the computer. The voice is

streaming on the speaker or headset. The “Mute on” button is shown to indicate the
current voice is available for calling.

 Music streaming

Choose connect Bluetooth High Quality Audio. After the connection is established,

you can use the Bluetooth speaker to listen music. If the Mute button is shown, it
indicates it is in the voice state. It needs to tap Mute button to switch the voice to

music playing status.

If Bluetooth Mono service and Bluetooth High Quality Audio are connected at the
same time, you can use the “Mute on” button to switch the connection channel.
Unmute indicates music playing, while mute indicates voice calling.

3.4.2. Connect classic Bluetooth keyboard/mouse

After the classic keyboard/mouse pairing is completed, the control panel will appear
and show that Bluetooth keyboard and mouse can be used normally.

Right-click the Bluetooth icon in the computer taskbar and click "Add Bluetooth 4.0
HID" to search and connect with the target device.

3.4.4. Connect mobile phone

Mobile phone supports Bluetooth voice gateway, Bluetooth high-quality audio,

Bluetooth object push. After Bluetooth voice gateway service is connected, you can
make phone calls through mobile phones at the computer; after Bluetooth

high-quality audio is connected, music on the phone can be played through the
computer's sound card (if the computer does not have a sound card, this item will be

dimmed); After Bluetooth object push service is conencted, it can send files or

photos from computer to the mobile phone; The SPP serial port service can be
connected for data transmission.

Create Bluetooth Serial Port Service to establish the SPP connection. Open any
Bluetooth COM port APP on the mobile phone. The example below uses “蓝牙串
口”APP.

5. Notes

5.1. Cannot start after installation

Co
If the Bluetooth icon remains dimmed in some computers after the installation
completes, right-click "Start Bluetooth", and the icon still doesn’t turn blue. The

system may prevent the driver service from starting. Follow the figure below to run

“reg_binary.bat”as administrator. This bat file will re-register the driver service in the
system. After it runs, right-click the Bluetooth icon in the taskbar and choose "Start

5.2. Driver install error

If the following error occurs, it may be caused by using old WIN7 system, and it
needs to install the system patch as below:

5.4. System Bluetooth and dongle conflict

Because WIN10 system has been equipped with built-in Bluetooth driver, plug in
dongle will conflict with it, so you have to disable built-in Bluetooth with following
steps.
 Run“Device Manager” to find build-in system Bluetooth driver.

 Taking Ubuntu for example, it should ensure BlueZ is installed in Linux system.
Sending the command: dpkg -s bluez | grep ^Versio to query BlueZ Version. If no

 After Bluez installation is confirmed, sending the command: hciconfig -a up in

Terminal to check corresponding hci number of plug-in dongle. It usually is hci0.

 Sending the command: sudo hciconfig hcix up in Terminal, in where x is hci

number confirmed in previous step, usually is 0. After sending the command,
you need to input the user login password (it will not display when entering, and
press Enter after entering) to enable Bluetooth.

After blue tooth is enabled, the Bluetooth icon will appear in the upper right
corner. Afterwards, refer to the chapter 5.6 to use Bluetooth.
