Assignment Topic:

 Element of Family, Ethical Values of Islam


Elements of family:
The family, in the Islamic scheme of life, provides for economic security as it
provides for moral, social and emotional security and leads to integration and
cohesion among the relations
The Quran emphasizes the value of family through verses such as Surah An-Nahl
(16:90) and Surah Ar-Rum (30:21) , which highlight the importance of
maintaining virtuous behavior and nurturing familial connections, as well as the
significance of family relationships in Islam.

Roles and responsibilities of family in Islam:


The Holy Qur'an says that the father is the shepherd over his family. He has to
protect them and provide for them as head of the household. In return, the mother
is the shepherd d be obedient, guard her husband's secrets and be his support
for a happy and healthy family life (al-Qur'an, 4:34.

 Ethical values of Islam:


Many virtues/good character traits/moral qualities such as kindness (to people
and animals), charity, forgiveness, honesty, patience, justice, respecting parents
and elders, keeping promises, and controlling one's anger, are commanded or
encouraged in verses in the Quran and hadith.

 Ethics of islam:
Major characteristics of Islamic ethics include bravery, consideration, experience,
fairness, justice, honesty and the pursuit of knowledge.

Some hadith cited expressing good conduct, deeds, morals in Islam, and the
importance of these include: Narrated 'Aishah: the Messenger of Allah said:
"Indeed among the believers with the most complete faith is the one who is the
best in conduct, and the most kind to his family" (Jamiʽ al-Tirmidhi 2612)
