NARRATIVE SAFETY REPORT ON HEALTH AND PROTOCOLS IN


SCHOOL

School is the foremost fountain of knowledge children are exposed to. It gives a chance
for them to acquire knowledge on various fields of education such as people, literature, history,
mathematics, politics, and other numerous subjects. This contributes to cultivation in the thought
process.
It has almost three years that this pandemic, covid-19 has greatly affect the Department
of Education through their learners and teachers in the learning process. Amidst of this
pandemic the Department of Education issued DepEd Order no.39, s.2022 dated September 19,
2022 titled: “HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS IN LIGHT OF THE COVID 19
PANDEMIC”. It mandates all schools to exercise due diligence and take precautionary
measures to minimize exposure to risk associated with Covid-19 and to support government
efforts to contain the spread of virus.
In line with this , Punta Silum Integrated School take part to it diligently and practice the
minimum health standard to ensure that the learners, teaching, and non-teaching staff to be safe
in Covid-19 as the school year starts to open. Hand washing facilities were put in the entrance of
the school and in every classroom together with soap and water. Also, learners were instructed
on how to wash their hands properly.
Learners were required to wear their facemask properly and a temperature check before
entering their respective classroom. If ever a learner or a teaching, and non-teaching staff has a
temperature with 37.8 degree Celsius they are required to stay at home.
Signage were put in every area in the classroom and even in the outside. Also, the school
maintain a social distancing in every learners and teaching staff.
With all these health and safety protocols, it can help the school environment to be free
from Covid-19.
