Technology benefits and setbacks in Society

The world is currently evolving at a higher rate due to advanced development. One of the

most critical factors in day-to-day life is Technology; from the first Internet to mobile phones,

artificial intelligence has transformed how people live, communicate, and converse around the

world. Technology has benefits and drawbacks, although its numerous impacts are shedding light

on Society.

In Society, Technology has been a critical factor in creating benefits in daily activities.

First and Foremost, Communication has developed and improved significantly. Mobile phones,

computers, laptops, and the Internet have made a medium for people to connect and share ideas,

fostering a worldwide exchange of information. The laptops have new features due to the

integration that create more accurate information, such as the CNET, which makes easier

accessibility. The interconnection between different races, countries, and continents is crucial for

addressing global challenges such as climate change, global warming, and public health crises.

Education has also improved drastically with online platforms, educational apps, and correction

facilities creating an advanced wider audience, enabling the students to study with ease, access,

and pace with education materials(Nouf Matar et al. 400). Technology has also made a unique

feature whereby earthquake activities, such as a seismic graph, can be seen before they occur.

The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted class-to-class activities and Technology. Additionally, the

Industry's efficiency and productivity have increased with more robotics and automation

revolutionizing manufacturing, improving data analysis, promoting businesses, and increasing

yield. The Advancement of Technology relates to the source since it can be used to identify the

chaos or environmental problems that occur naturally.

Drawbacks in Technology affect Society with a big output. Technology indeed has

numerous benefits in the world, creating drawbacks altogether. With more advancement, privacy

becomes one setback to Society. With the increase in personal data collected by Technology,

there is a risk of data leakage to the wrong malicious people who compromise privacy. The

Leakage creates cyberattacks and breaches that require advanced measures by cyber security to

protect sensitive information. Addiction is another factor that causes a significant setback.

Continuous use of social media, the Internet, video games, and smartphones creates isolation,

reducing face-to-face interactions, physical activities, health problems, and difficulties such as

eye problems and bad habits, particularly among youths and adolescents.

Technology creates unemployment since advanced developed Technology has more

automation and AI that does more planned work (Johny et al. 885). The advancement makes

workers try to adapt and remain relevant in the job market, leading to competition and creating

malpractices.

In conclusion, Technology has created more aspects and developments in our daily lives,

such as better health care, education, transport, and efficiency. However, it creates uncertainty

regarding employment, privacy, and addiction, creating a need for the Society to strike a balance

between ethical uses of Technology and Society.
