CLASSIFICATION: Yellow

iP1900

Product Overview
In October 2008 Canon launches the new PIXMA iP1900, which is a replacement to the PIXMA iP1800.
The iP1900 will be Canon’s entry level PIXMA inkjet printer and will be sold in the EMBU, UK and 4 CE
regions. With great looks and the new 2H’08 FINE Cartridges, which gives class leading photo lab quality,
the iP1900 is ideal for entry level users who want to print their photos quickly and with uncomprimising
quality. The iP1900 is also ideal for web/document printing.

The iP1900 uses two new 2H08 FINE cartridges (BK & CMY) offering 4 colour printing with a maximum
print resolution of up to 4800 x 1200 dpi with 2pl ink droplet size, which enables virtually grain free,
smooth, beautiful photo print quality.

The Black is pigment ink for better quality text printing while the colour CMY are dye based inks which enable
more glossy photo printing.

The iP1900 is also fast with a photo lab quality 10x15cm borderless photo in approx. 55 seconds in
Standard mode.

Key Features
• 4 colour FINE Cartridges
• High quality photo printing with 4800x1200 dpi resolution and 2pl ink droplets
• Enhanced “Auto Photo Fix” removes red eye automatically
• Photo lab quality print speed: 10x15cm borderless photo in approx. 55 seconds in Standard
mode
• ChromaLife100 system for long-lasting, beautiful prints

When loading paper in stacks, the print side may become marked as it is fed or paper may not feed properly. In this case, load one sheet at a time.

New Features and Technology

Auto Image Fix – Red Eye
“Auto Photo Fix” recognises the type of scene, subject’s face etc. and automatically adopts the optimal
correction for each type of the image and prints a beautiful photo. The name has been changed from Auto
Image Fix to Auto Photo Fix to clarify what the function does, and because of 3 improvements - red eye
reduction, an improvement in processing time and improved accuracy of the scene analysis algorithm.

Auto Photo Fix works with a “detection function” which analyses “Face detection” and “Scene Analysis“.
Image correction concentrates on optimising of three main areas in a photo:

• Colour casts and over- or under-exposure

• Face tone and brightness

o Back-lit or shadowed faces

o Red Eye correction (disabled by default - must be selected by the user for portraits
affected by red-eye)

• Optimise image by scenes

o Adjust tone, contrast
o Enhance saturation

Auto Photo Fix is supported on Easy-PhotoPrint EX, card direct printing and MP Navigator EX, although the
red-eye correction feature is not available in MP Navigator. Additionally, it is now available in Photo Reprint
and Film Print modes for All-In-Ones
