Main Purpose of Role

The main objective of the Senior Security Operations Analyst is to work with the IT Security Manager
and Heads of IT service to deliver the IT strategy from an operational perspective.

Reduce organisational risk by rapidly remediating active attacks in the environment, advising on
improvements to threat protection practices, and referring violations of organizational policies to
appropriate stakeholders.

Responsible for the management and direction of the Security Operations Analyst.

Outputs and Accountabilities

• Lead incident response and expert analysis within the Security Operations Team.
• Oversight of all of Hyde’s network perimeters and touch points, management of threat detection,
hunting, management of security appliances and play books, and overall responsibility for Hyde’s
security posture.
• Respond to threats across multi-cloud environments and protect the integrity of Hyde’s information
assets.
• Oversee a service queue ensuring the team are managing and resolving incidents and changes in
a timely manner.
• Lead on any project work and BAU activities relating to security.

• Advise the management team of significant emerging threats and recommend tactical steps to
counteract these threats.
• Review any documentation supporting security workstreams both current and past.
• Recommendations improvements to operational effectiveness and implement changes.
• Provide support and define play books to support the cyber incident response process.
• Lead the monthly vulnerability management forum from an Operational perspective

Management Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to the Security Operations Analyst


• Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, encouraging growth and development

• Provide ongoing training to team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and
knowledge to address security issues effectively.
• Set clear goals, monitor performance, and conduct regular performance reviews as per Hyde’s
management policies.
• Deliver services within agreed budgets and drive initiatives to deliver value for money.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.


• Strong Security first mindset.
• Ability to manage a small team.
• Front-line experience working in a cyber role supporting multi cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of cyber security principles, best practices, attack vectors, current threats,
and remediation strategies
• Proficient in patch lifecycle management using tools such as SCCM, Qualys, and Patch my PC.
• Experience working with SIEM providers, SOC, and other third parties in the security space.
• Solid understanding of the Microsoft stack including client and server operating systems, VMWare,
AWS, and Azure.
• Experience with computer forensics practices and procedures, basic investigations, and evidence
handling is preferred.
