Review of Related Literature and Studies

The historical evolution of ink from charcoal used by prehistoric humans
to modern whiteboard markers highlights the ongoing efforts to find safer
alternatives due to health concerns associated with commercial inks.
Studies have explored using charcoal ink as a safer option, demonstrating
its potential as a viable alternative ink with comparable quality to
permanent ink and without harmful chemical additives. The use of
charcoal as an alternative ink and fuel source in the Philippines, including
innovative methods such as utilizing banana peelings, showcases its
sustainability and versatility.
