At the end of the discussion, the students should be able to:
a. Describe what is project base learning;
b. Shows understanding about the advantage of project base learning; and
c. Create a role play performing a project-based learning approach inside a classroom
setting.

We will divide you into two groups
and what you are going to do is
form a line and we will show an
emoji to the last person at the back
and he/she will draw the emoji at
the back of the person in front of
he/her until to the first person and
that person will draw it in a piece of
paper.

For today’s lesson class, we will
tackle about project-based learning
approach.

 Discussion
Before we start, Let us first define
what is project-based learning.
Project-based learning (PBL) or
project-based instruction is a
student-centered teaching method
that encourages learning through
engaging, real world, curriculum-
related questions or challenges.

Why should we as educators use


PBL? From the word projects,
projects are often assessed through
presentations, having the students
present more often helps them to
develop their COMMUNICATION

SKILLS, project assignments


allows students to work with their
hands and complete task. It’s
important to them to develop some
of the 21st CENTURY LIFE
SKILLS, projects are assigned as
group activities, being able to work
with others is a necessary
component of countless field of
work and allows student
collaboration. PBL comes really
handy for those situation where
students are bored of lectures and
the best part of using PBL is that it
increases student engagement.
Students will actually enjoy
working with those projects.

meant for?

PBL can be use to any student,


however, it is most effective on
certain types of students. At risk
students benefits the most on
project based learning. These
students obviously struggle with
typical classroom learning and it
can be use for many different
classes but PBL is most prevalent in
social studies and arts. PBL can also
be incorporated from kindergarten
to grade (K-12)

First it to begin with a driving
question,second is inquiry process,
third is to find a solution to the
driving question, and the last step is
to allow students to make their
projects available to the public.

Now class, here’s a simple example


of project based learning
1. You present the issue, method of
investigation and any
supplementary materials. Its up to
your student to deliver a defined
product.
2. Encourage student to reflect on
their work and make revisions,
ultimately delivering presentation to
their peers.
