13 August 2020
Hi Karim,

I attended a one-day Robotics Camp yesterday. The camp was organised by Bright
Future Sdn Bhd. which aimed at giving participants hands-on experience in building a robot.
My father paid RM300 for it. There were only 20 participants with five instructors. Qw qwew
divided into groups of five. We were required to be at Bright Future laboratory half an hour
before for registration where we were given a free T-shirt. We were required to don the shirt.

The camp started off at 9a.m. sharp with an exhibition of robots made by the participants
before us. It was spectacular! I was amazed at the creativity of the participants. I was
beginning to wonder if I could do something of such grandeur. I must say, the display was
an eye opener for me. A quarter of an hour later, the instructors demonstrated how to build a
robot. Of course, the components were provided. However, I must say that it seemed like an
uphill task. After two hours, we were served tea and snacks.

The next slot, which was half an hour later, was really challenging as we had to build our
own robot. At first I thought it was next to impossible for us to build a robot but two hours later
with the help
of our instructors, my group members and I took a picture of the robot we made! I named her
Missy Maid. I was so engrossed with the creations of the other teams that I did not realise it
was lunch break. The instructors asssured me that I could see all the creations in an hour’s
time.

Soon after lunch, there was a demonstration of all the robots created and the tasks they
could do. There were Grassy Blades, Snowy Shower, Diaper Suzy and Launder Mark. The
demonstration of the robots took a couple of hours followed by half an hour’s tea break.
Then, it was the certificate awarding ceremony. Half an hour later, I was on my way home
beaming with pride.

Your cousin,
Azman
