DETAILED LESSON PLAN

I. Learning Competency and Objectives

At the end of the lesson, the students can:

a) solve routine and non-routine problems involving factors, multiples, and divisibility rules for
numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12.;
b) Practice solving problems involving factors, multiples, and divisibility rules through various
activities.; and
c) Develop confidence and perseverance in solving problems related to factors, multiples,
and divisibility rules.
MELC: Solve routine and non-routine problems involving factors, multiples, and divisibility
rules for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12. -M5NS-Ic-59

III. Learning Procedure (5E’s Model)

Teacher’s Activities Students’ Activities

A. ENGAGE

Hello class, good morning! (students will respond)

To start our lesson, let us have an opening In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy
prayer. Spirit. Amen!

Now I want you to arrange your seats and

make sure you are in line with the seats in
front of you.

Motivation (Icebreaker

"Good morning, class! Today, we are going to

continue our exploration of factors, multiples,
and divisibility rules. But before we begin, let's
start with an icebreaker activity to warm up our
thinking skills. I will call out a number, and I
want you to quickly think of two factors and
one multiple of that number. Are you ready?" Yes Teacher!

Maica: "The factors of 12 are 1 and 12, and the

"Alright, let's start with the number 12." Maica? multiple is 24."

"Great job! Now, let's try another number. How Jimmy: "The factors of 15 are 1 and 15, and the
about 15?" Jimmy? multiple is 30."

"Well done, everyone! You are all warmed up

and ready to dive into our lesson today."
B. EXPLORE

"Now, we are going to explore factors, multiples,

and divisibility rules further. I have prepared
some activity cards for each group. In your
groups, you will work together to solve the
problems on the cards. Each card contains a
number, and you need to identify the factors,
multiples, and apply the divisibility rules for that
number. Take turns discussing and sharing your (Students form small groups and receive activity
answers within your group." cards.)
(Students work together, discussing and solving
the problems on the activity cards.)

C. EXPLAIN

Review:
Rica: "Factors are numbers that can divide evenly
into another number, and multiples are numbers
Can anyone tell me what factors and multiples that a given number can be divided evenly by."
are?"

"That's correct! Now, let's do a quick activity to

review the factors and multiples of a number. I
will call out a number, and I want you to write "Yes, teacher!"
down as many factors and multiples of that
number as you can in one minute.Ready?"

(Teacher calls out a number, and students write

down the factors and multiples on their
notebooks. After one minute, the teacher asks
students to share their answers.)

Introduction of the lesson:

"Today, we will focus on solving routine and non-

routine problems involving factors, multiples, and
divisibility rules for numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10,
11, and 12. To do this, we need to understand
and apply the divisibility rules for each of these
numbers. Divisibility rules help us determine if a
number is divisible by another number without
actually performing the division. Let's start with
the divisibility rule for the number 2."

(Teacher writes the divisibility rule for 2 on the

board:)
"A number is divisible by 2 if its last digit is even
(0, 2, 4, 6, or 8)."

(Teacher provides examples and demonstrates

the application of the divisibility rule for 2.)
D. ELABORATE

"Now, it's time for you to practice applying the

divisibility rules for numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10,
11, and 12. I will distribute worksheets to each of
you. On the worksheets, you will find a variety of
problems that require you to determine if a
number is divisible by a specific number. Work (Students receive worksheets and start working
on the problems independently, and remember on the problems.)
to apply the appropriate divisibility rule for each
number."

D. EVALUATE

Instructions: Read each question carefully and

provide the correct answer or solution. Show all
your work and reasoning where applicable.

Part 1: Multiple Choice

Choose the correct answer for each question by

circling the corresponding letter.

1. Which of the following numbers is a multiple of

4? a) 15 b) 22 c) 28 d) 33

2. What is the least common multiple of 6 and 9?

a) 18 b) 24 c) 36 d) 54

3. Which of the following numbers is divisible by

both 2 and 3? a) 10 b) 15 c) 18 d) 25

4. What is the largest factor of 24? a) 4 b) 6 c) 8 (The students do the tasks)

d) 12

5. Which of the following numbers is divisible by

5? a) 24 b) 35 c) 48 d) 63

(Students submit their completed worksheets.)

"Time is up! Please pass your worksheets to the

front."

(Teacher reviews the worksheets to assess the

students' understanding of factors, multiples, and
divisibility rules.)
IV. Evaluation

Instructions: Solve the following problems involving factors, multiples, and divisibility rules. Show your
work and provide explanations for your answers.

1. Determine if the following numbers are divisible by 2:

a) 16
b) 25
c) 42
2. Find the factors of the following numbers:
a) 12
b) 18
c) 27
3. Identify the multiples of the following numbers:
a) 5 (up to 30)
b) 9 (up to 45)
c) 10 (up to 50)
4. Determine if the following numbers are divisible by 3:
a) 36
b) 48
c) 57
5. Solve the following problem:
A teacher wants to distribute 24 pencils equally among her 6 students. How many pencils will each
student receive?

V. Assignment/Reflection/Enrichment

Direction: Create your own routine or non-routine problem that involves factors, multiples, or divisibility
rules.
