Sing, my tongue, the Savior’s glory, On the night of that Last Supper,
Of His flesh the mystery sing, Seated with His chosen band,
Of the blood, all price exceeding, He, the paschal victim eating,
Shed by our immortal King, First fulfills the law's command;
Destined, for the world’s redemption, Then as food to all His brethren
From a noble womb to spring. Gives Himself with His own hand.
Of a pure and spotless virgin, To the everlasting Father,
Born for us, His love to show, And the Son Who made us free,
He, as man, with man conversing, And the Spirit, God proceeding,
Stayed, the seeds of truth to sow; From them each eternally,
Then He closed in wondrous fashion, Be salvation, honor, blessing,
This His life on earth below. Might and endless majesty.
