DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH 10

CONTENT STANDARD

The learner demonstrates understanding of how world literature and other text types
serve as sources of wisdom in expressing and resolving conflicts among individuals, groups and
nature; also how to use evaluative reading, listening and viewing strategies, special speeches for
occasion, pronouns and structures of modification.

PERFORMANCE STANDARD

The learner skilfully delivers a speech for a special occasion through utilizing effective
verbal and non-verbal strategies and ICT resources.

LEARNING COMPETENCY

EN10OL-IIIe-3.9: use the correct and appropriate language when giving a toast or a tribute to
someone and when delivering welcome and closing remarks.

At the end of the discussion, the student should be able to:

SPEAKING

What is the 7 elements of The speaker, The message,


public speaking? The audience or receiver,
Channel, Feedback, Noise
and The venue or situation.

1. The Speaker

The source of the message.


The communication starts with
the speaker. Without speakers,
there’s no public speaking.

How about the second


elements? Ma’am the message, it is the
content and the purpose.
2. The message

What you’re going to tell


people and you can analyse it
into three key elements:

Who wants to read?

 Content, which is what


you say

 Structure, which is how


you organize your
message.

 Style, which is the way


For the third element, who you present the speech.
