B. School Profile
Naval National High School first opened its portals in June of 1993. Back then, a concern
regarding the steady increase of enrolment in nearby secondary schools, such as Naval School of
Fisheries and Lucsoon National High School emerged; prompting the need to open a new
secondary school.
Then SDS Dr. Solidad Agner, motivated by his desire for personal, familial, vocational, and
communal advancement, initiated deliberate actions and opted to create a new secondary school
annex to Lucsoon National High School.
Thus, the school, named Naval High School – Lucsoon National High School Annex, was
first established within the premises of Naval Central School. NHS-LNHS initially started off with
just two faculty members: Mr. Paul E. Enguito and Mrs. Nida D. Entrolizo; as well as one school
administrator, in the person of Mr. Edgar B. Batiquin.
Moreover, salaries of the employees were taken from the Provincial Government of Biliran’s
Special Education Fund, which was administered by then Provincial Governor, Hon. Wayne M.
Jaro.
In 1995, the provincial government granted the relocation of the school from Naval Central
School to a newer site in Brgy. Larrazabal, Naval, Biliran; where it is now presently located; and
in 1998, the late Gov. Danilo M. Parilla donated the lot of the lower campus, now comprising a
total area of 1.97 hectares.
Eventually, the NHS - LNHS Annex became Naval National High School (NNHS) by virtue
of Republic Act No. 08453 sponsored by Cong. Gerardo S. Espina, Sr. Naval National High
School went on to become one of the Pilot Schools of Special Program in Sports, all throughout
the Philippines, under DepEd Order No. 63 s. 2008.
True enough, the school has gone a long way since its inception. To date, NNHS has 2,115
enrollees for S.Y: 2022-2023, with 39 classrooms. The school is headed by Dr. Rachelle C. Dado,
supported by her department heads, Patricio P. Laurito, Jr., Elaine Joy S. Mejia, and Reymund
J. Icain, together with 5 Administrative staff and 58 teaching staff.
Indeed, NNHS remains to be one of the top performing high schools in the division of
Biliran with a School Based Management Level III of Practice, Best Brigada Eskwela
Implementer, and Regional SBM WinS Three Star Approach Awardee!
