Case Study-2
26. During COVID pandemic , doctors and nurses worked day and night to save lives. The management of a
Hospital decided to make a rule regarding the payment to be made to the doctors for their hardwork. The
rule is as follows:
For first 5 hours, the doctor gets ₹10,000 and for every extra hour of work, he/she will get ₹500. If a doctor
works for ‘x’ hours and total amount paid to doctor for 1 day is ₹ y, then based on the above information,
answer the following questions:

(a) Find the linear equation formed from the above situation.
(b) What is the number of solutions of the linear equation formed.
(c) If a doctor works for 8 hours, then find the amount paid to the doctor.
