A Wonder Food' For The World's Children
A Wonder Food' For The World's Children
COVID-19 and
children
Children are not the face of this pandemic. But they risk being among its
biggest victims, as children’s lives are nonetheless being changed in profound
ways. All children, of all ages, and in all countries, are being affected, in
particular by the socio-economic impacts and, in some cases, by mitigation
measures that may inadvertently do more harm than good.
Moreover, the harmful effects of this pandemic will not be distributed equally.
They are expected to be most damaging for children in the poorest countries,
and in the poorest neighbourhoods, and for those in already disadvantaged or
vulnerable situations.
3.9% March
inflation
Inflation likely quickened to 3.9 percent in March mainly due to base effects, the
Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) said in a forecast that hovered closer to the
upper end of its 2 to 4 percent target range
“It would be close to 4 percent. I think 3.9 percent, but we’ll see,” BSP Governor
Eli Remolona Jr. told reporters on Wednesday.
Remolona’s projection means inflation has potential to outpace the 3.4 percent
rate recorded in February. But the good news is that inflation is expected to stay
within the BSP’s target range for the fourth straight month.
Female Aeta
makes history
Lady Anne Duya is said to be the first female from her tribe to pass the
Criminology licensure exams.
Duya is among the 15,684 out of 32,495 who passed the Licensure Examination
for Criminologists given by the Board of Criminology last February. The
Professional Regulation Commission released the result last March 6.
