ACADEMIC AND ADMINISTRATIVE AUDIT REPORT 2020-21

The Academic and Administrative Audit Committee has visited the Asian Academy of
Education and Research’s Asian College of Commerce and Science, Narhe-Dhayari, Pune.
On 07/12/2020 & 08/12/2020 to conduct the said audit for the academic year 2020-21.
The Academic and Administrative Audit Committee has consisted of the following members

About Academic and Administrative Audit:

1. Introduction: The purpose of the audit is to evaluate the performance of the various
departments and give suggestions for further improvement of the quality of teaching,
research, administration, and curricular and extra-curricular activities.

2. Methodology: The audit combined physical inspection with a review of relevant


documentation and interviews with various stakeholders. The college has constituted
IQAC and other multiple committees to conduct and review activities at the
departmental level.
3. Review of the Documentation: The trust and the college’s Academic Policy were
reviewed for this audit.
4. Interactions: Interactions were conducted with the principal, teaching and non-
teaching staff, and the students.
5. Physical Inspection: The audit team was visited all academic departments and service
centers catering to the educational need of the students.
6. Objectives of conducting Academic and Administrative Audit are as given below.
a. To review of teaching and learning processes adopted by the college.
b. To evaluate course and program outcomes.
c. To assure quality education by the implementation of co-curricular and extra-
curricular activities.
d. To find out Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Challenges at various levels
and take appropriate measures in those areas.
e. To prepare for AQAR 2020-21
7. Initiatives of the college: The college has introduced the following initiatives during
the academic year.
a. The college has adopted a working definition of quality assurance and sustenance,
compatible with its Mission and Visions.
b. IQAC promotes a participatory approach to the development of the college.
c. The computerized documentation process has been effectively followed.
d. Quality documents are prepared in respect of policies and procedures adopted.
e. Various committees are constituted, and their functional performance is as per the
expectations.
f. Provide quality education to the students from various parts of the society to make
them academically and technically competent.
8. Observations:
a. The academic, developmental growth of the college shows a rising trend as compared
to past years.
b. There is an increasing trend in the students’ enrolment.
c. The examination results are promising.
d. Seminars/ conferences were organized in the college and invited participants from
other affiliated colleges.
e. The resource persons from industries, research, and educational fields were called for
seminars and conferences.
f. The faculty members of the college have participated in the seminars and conferences
organized by the other colleges.
g. Employment generation certificate courses are introduced in the college, and the
students have got the jobs.
h. The faculty members are using ICT in their traditional teaching pedagogy.
i. The NSS unit was organized several community enrichment activities in the adopted
village and the college vicinity.
j. The college has built its good image in the mind of the aspiring students’ community.
k. A significant percentage of the students come from areas located more than 25 km
from the college. For post-graduation classes, there are from other districts like
Sangali, Kolhapur, and Satara.
l. The trustees are involved in the college development from the bottom of their hearts,
and they take painful efforts for the target achievement.

Recommendations:

The following recommendations were made to the college management.


a. The placement cell of the college may be strengthened.
b. Memorandum of Undertaking may be formed to enhance the student support facilities
such as playground:
c. Alumni Association may be formalized with updated records.
d. Non- teaching staff may be trained in using ICT facilities relevant to their work.
e. The number of computers may be increased so the computer student ratio will be
maintained.
f. Library facilities may be strengthened, and the software may be introduced for the
issue and return of the books.
g. A separate reading room may be presented for the teacher and students.

The overall observations of the AAA committee based on the inputs collected from IQAC
and various departments and interaction with the stakeholders are:
