 A handful of concerned individuals
decided to address the reality of vocations in the
Philippines in a more systematic and vigorous
way. The group was first called the “National
Board on Vocations.” This was the forerunner of
the Director of Vocations in the Philippines.
Members of this team who first met on March 14,
1979 were Cardinal Vidal, Bishops Antonio
Frondosa, Artemio Casas, Cirilo Almario and
Simeon Valerio.
