A. Introduction

Project Overview: Pawfect Match Pet Adoption App

Project Name: Pawfect Match

“Pawfect Match” is an innovative app that connects loving pet owners with
compassionate individuals and families, creating lifelong bonds. It is a pet adoption
system made to make pet adoption easier and more efficient for users. With this app, you
can browse through extensive database of adorable pets looking for their forever homes
with detailed profiles, heartwarming photos, and personalized matchmaking algorithms.

The goal is to achieve a seamless adoption process, saying goodbye to

complicated paperwork and endless waiting periods. With Pawfect Match, the adoption
process is simple, transparent, and stress-free. Submit adoption applications directly
through the app, communicate with pet owners, and schedule meet-and-greet sessions to
ensure compatibility.

B. Background of the Study

I. Statement of the Problem

User Experience:

● Outdated pet profiles and information: Inaccurate or incomplete descriptions

can lead to disappointment and wasted time for potential adopters.
● Limited breed recognition: The system may not accurately identify mixed
breeds, making them harder to find through filtering.
● Bias in algorithms: Matching algorithms might unintentionally favor certain
breeds or age groups, neglecting less popular animals.

Adoption Process:

● Lack of post-adoption support: Users might need ongoing guidance and

resources to address new pet owner challenges, but the platform doesn't offer
them.
● Unclear decision timelines: Long waiting periods without updates can leave
applicants feeling confused and frustrated.
● Lack of updates: Provide regular communication throughout the process, even if
it's just to acknowledge receipt of the application.

Animal Welfare:

● Inaccurate assessment of animal needs and behaviors: Misrepresented profiles

can lead to failed adoptions and harm to animals placed in incompatible homes.
● Potential for scams or unethical practices: Unverified information or lack of
oversight can make users vulnerable to fraudulent activity.
● Unclear or missing medical history: Essential information about past health
issues, vaccinations, and sterilization status can be withheld, compromising
transparency and animal welfare.

II. Objectives

The objective of the Pawfect Match project is to develop a comprehensive mobile

application that facilitates the pet adoption process, connecting pet owners with potential
adopters in an efficient, user-friendly, and transparent manner. The app aims to promote
responsible pet ownership, reduce the number of homeless pets, and create lifelong bonds
between pets and their adoptive families.
