1.0 SCOPE
This specification describes the requirements for the supply of Fire Water and
Foam Hose reels to be installed on the Offshore Platform.
The firewater and foam hose reels shall be furnished conforming to the
requirements furnished below. Deviations if any, shall be brought to Company's
notice and written approval shall be obtained for such deviations.
2.1 Galvanized, welded steel hose reel with single length (18 m min.) 1½" (ID) all
rubber non-collapsible, non-kinkable hose with brass couplings. Nozzle shall be
an Elkhart SFL (or equivalent), 95 GPM capacity with straight stream or fog
capability. Material of nozzle shall be chrome plated brass for salt water service.
Supply shall also include an AFFF 6% concentrate, tank constructed of SS 316.
Hose reel shall be mounted on the top of tank having capacity as specified in the
data sheet.
2.2 Eductor system shall be of bypass type with metering valve for foam control with
0% to 9% setting and a transparent pick-up tube. Hose shall be Neoprene
rubber lined and have an external coating of oil and abrasion resistant material to
protect them from sunlight or mild dew damage. Hose reels shall have
Underwriters Laboratory/US Coast Guard/FM or equivalent approval. Hose shall
be suitable for maximum working pressure of 14 kg/cm2g and tested to 21
kg/cm2g.
2.3 All pipes, fittings & valve material shall be as per respective piping classes.
2.4 Design and construction of hose reel station shall be in accordance with NFPA
and relevant Codes and Standards.
2.5 All external hardware shall be suitable for offshore service where the atmosphere
is salt laden and corrosive.
3.0 TAGS
Tag Nos. of Hose Reel shall be marked on SS-316 material plate and
permanently attached.

Vendor data shall be furnished in accordance with Specification for Vendor data
requirements, “6347-40-16-44-SP-04”.
Vendor shall carry out various tests as per applicable codes / standards and data
sheet. Test certificates shall be submitted for company’s approval.
7.0 SPARES
7.1 Vendor shall recommend and provide spare parts needed for start-up and
commissioning.
7.2 Vendor shall also recommend and supply spare parts (with prices)
needed for one (1) year normal operation and maintenance.

9.0 WARRANTY
Vendor shall have final and total responsibility for the design, fabrication and
performance of all equipments supplied under this specification.
Vendor shall warrant that the equipment furnished by him is in accordance with
this specification and Specification for General Technical Requirements, “6347-
40-16-44-SP-01”.
