Our immune system is a large network of organs,

white blood cells, proteins and chemicals. These parts all

work together to protect us from germs (джємс) and other
invaders. Our immune system also helps our body heal
from infections and injuries.
The organs of the immune system, positioned throughout
the body, are called lymphoid organs.
The major parts of immune system are the
thymus (саймус), spleen, lymph system, bone marrow,
white blood cells, antibodies, and hormones.
Lymphatic vessels and lymph nodes are the parts of the
special circulatory system that carries lymph,
a transparent fluid containing white blood cells,
chiefly (чіфлі) lymphocytes.
(So..) How Does the Immune System Work?
When the body senses foreign (форен) substances
(called antigens), the immune system works to recognize
the antigens and get rid of them.
B-lymphocytes are triggered to make antibodies
(also called immunoglobulins). These proteins lock onto
specific antigens. After they're made, antibodies usually
stay in our bodies in case we have to fight the same germ
again. That's why someone who gets sick with
a disease, like chickenpox, usually won't get sick from it
again.

The basic types of organisms that cause

infectious (інфекшес) disease are bacteria,
viruses, fungi (фангай), protozoa, and helminths.
Possible help for the immune system is a healthy
diet, with lots of natural sources of vitamins A, C
and E, zinc (зінк), iron, and vitamin B.
