Matthew is arrested by Harry Bosch from Sector 18 on 16 th July 2023. Matthew states before
the Judicial First Class Magistrate that he infact came to the house that night at around 1:00
AM. He entered the house with a spare key given by his wife, but to his shock he found his
wife dead hanging from the ceiling wall and in a state of panic he ran from the place without
looking back. This was confirmed by one of his friend James Hector (DW3) who stated that
he came to his place in Sector 18 in the early hours of 15 th July in a state of panic and asked
to let him stay for a couple of day as he may be in trouble.

STATEMENT OF JAMES HECTOR UNDER SECTION 164 CrPC

My name is James Hector and I am the friend of Matthew who has been wrongly arrested by
the police. Matthew called me on the night of the incident and was sounding very upset. I told
him to come to my place in his motorcycle and he came within the next one hour. I told him
that the police will be questioning all people and because of our poor background and they
will always see him as a suspect. Matthew was staying at my place with his mobile phone
switched off when the police came suddenly on 16th July and arrested him in an aggressive
manner. Matthew is from a very poor background and he is being a scapegoat by the police
and media.

STATEMENT OF MATTHEW UNDER SECTION 164 CrPC

My name is Matthew and I have been wrongly arrested for the death of my wife Elizabeth
and Thomas Doe, the son of my wife’s employers. On the night of the incident I came back
late from work due to extra duty and when I entered the main gate I saw the door to
Elizabeth’s room open. I rushed in and saw the body of Elizabeth hanging from the ceiling
fan. I immediately got scared that the killer was nearby as when I touched her body I noticed
that it was warm still. I ran outside to see if I can call for help but no security guard could be
seen. I went outside the society and called my friend James Hector and told him about what
happened. He advised me to come to his place and calm down. I went to his place and told
him again what happened. He advised me to switch off my phone as the police will see as a
natural suspect and start harassing and torturing me. The police immediately arrested me the
next day and tortured me to confess that I killed my wife but I did not give in. I humbly
request that the Judge pass an order to stop the torture by the police.
