Q1) Define 1’A’ of electric current. Is electric current a scalar or vector quantity?

Q2) What does the slope of V-I and I-V graph at any point represent?

Q4) Calculate the current in a circuit if 500C of charge pass on through it in 10 minutes.

Q5) Calculate the amount of charge that would flow in 2 hours though an element of an electric bulb drawing a
current of 0.25A.

Q6) On a particular television tube, a bean of electrons is emitted. The bean current is 80µA (1µ=10-6). How many
electrons strike the screen of TV every second? Also find the total charge striking the screen in 2 minutes.

Q7) How many energy is given to 5 coulomb of charge passing through a 12V battery?

Q8) 24j work is done in moving a charge q between two points having potential difference 12 volt.

Find the value of charge q.

Q9) Define the electric current. Write S.I unit. Drive an expression for electric current in terms of number of

Q12)Calculate the resistance of conductor if the current flowing through it is 0.2 Amp. when the applied potential
difference is 0.8 volt.

Q13) We have a copper wire of resistance R. This wire is pulled so that its length is doubled (temperature remains
constant). Find the new resistance of wire in terms of its original resistance.

Q36) Number of electric lamps designed to be used on 220V electric supply are rated 10W each. Calculate the
number of lamps that can be connected to parallel in each other across the two wires 220V line if the maximum
allowable current is 5A.

Q37) A household uses the following electric appliances: -

i) Refrigerator of rating 400W for 10 hours each day.


ii) Two electric fans of rating 80W each for 12 hours each day.
iii) Six electric tubes of rating 18W each for 6 hours each day.

Calculate the electricity bill of the household for the month of June if the cost per unit of electric energy is Rs.3.00.

Q38) An electric lamp is marked 100W, 220V. It is used for 5 hours daily. Calculate

ii) Energy consumed in KWH per day.

each unit cost Rs.4.00.

Q40) Two metallic wires A and B are connected in series. Wire A has length ‘l’ and radius ‘r’, while wire B has length
‘2l’ and radius ‘2r’. Find the ratio of the total resistance of series combination and the resistance of wire ‘A’. If both
the wires are of same material.

Q41) Tow metallic wires A and B of same material are connected in parallel . Wire A has length ‘l’ and radius ‘r’ and
wire B has length ‘2l’ and radius 2r.Compute the ratio of the total resistance of parallel combination and the
resistance of wire A.
