Dear Parents and Students,

We welcome you to the Young Scholars Programme 2023 @ Ashoka University. We are very excited to
host you on Ashoka Campus during the programme. Please read this document carefully for details on
travel to Ashoka University and the stay during the programme.

● Parents and guardians are welcome to drop off their child but cannot stay overnight on campus.
● Shuttle service to and from Jahangirpuri Metro Station is available. We will share the shuttle
schedule with closer to the programme dates. You can travel to Jahangirpuri from New Delhi
Airport or the Railway station using the metro or a cab. Find the Delhi metro map here and plan
your metro journey.
● Students can carry their mobile phones and laptops with them.
● Parents can attend the campus walk-around on a day prior to the programme.
○ For YSP General/ Advanced- May 21| 2:45- 3:45 PM OR May 21| 5:30- 6:30 PM
○ For YSP Sciences/ Computer Science- May 28| 3- 4 PM OR May 28| 5:30- 6:30 PM
● Reporting-
○ YSP General/ Advanced- May 21| 8 PM latest
○ YSP Sciences/ Computer Science- May 28| 8 PM latest
○ Arrangements for pick up from Ashoka University gate and meals on the above dates will
be made.
● Departure-
○ YSP General- May 26| After 6:30 PM OR May 27| Before 2 PM
○ YSP Sciences/ Computer Science/ Advanced- June 2| After 8 PM OR June 3| Before 2
PM
○ Arrangements for stay and meals for the above-mentioned dates & times will be made.
● YSP Advanced (only)-
○ For students staying on the Ashoka Campus on the weekend (27- 28 May), stay and meal
arrangements will be made.
○ Students will be engaged in cultural and performance activities, and film screenings.
○ YSP Team will stay on campus during this time.
● Safety and Security-
○ Students will not be allowed to exit the Ashoka campus at any time during the
programme.
○ Students will stay in Ashoka Residence Halls. Boys and girls will have separate
residences.
○ We will provide students with a list of university emergency contacts they can get in
touch with during their stay, in case of any emergency. The list will contain numbers of
YSP team members, student counsellors, infirmary, and others.
○ The Ashoka Campus houses an Infirmary for basic health care support along with an
Ambulance in case of Medical Emergencies. The support is available 24x7.
● Food and dining-
○ All meals (4 including evening snacks) will be provided at the mess.
○ Students can choose to eat at other campus food outlets at their own expense.
○ Vegetarian, non-vegetarian and vegan food options will be available.
● Students can carry cash and credit/ debit cards to use at the food outlets at the Ashoka campus.
However, the student will bear full responsibility for the safety and security of cash and cards.
