UGC

KICKSTARTER

A step-by-step guide
to kickstarting your UGC
journey.

BY LAURA HOWIE
@UGCWITHLAURAA
Oh hey!
t a b o u t m e . . .
A bi
Hey! I'm Laura Howie – nice to e-meet you! I'm 25 and I live in Perth,
Australia.

Ever catch yourself daydreaming at your desk, thinking, "There's

gotta be more to life than this 9-5 routine?" Been there, done that.
That was me until i discovered UGC in May 2023...

Picture this: I started UGC as a side hustle, barely knowing what it

was all about and doubting that i’d even make $100. Little did I know
that in my first month i’d make $600... and that was just the
beginning! By month 2 I hit my first four-figures ($6500, actually) and
thats when it hit me: UGC was my golden ticket to freedom.

Six months later here I am. I have now quit my job to work for myself
full time and I'm living proof that dreams can come true. No more
office chains – just me, my phone, and a whole lot of amazing brand
deals! *pinch me*

Now, I'm all about sharing the secret sauce. So if you're itching to
break free from the 9-5 grind, work from your phone, and turn
dreams into reality, you're in the right place. Welcome to my UGC
Kickstarter Guide!
Lets get into it:
Contents:

Step 1: Create New Socials

Step 2: Follow, Learn

& Engage

Step 3: Create
Content!
We will only go
through the
first 3 steps so
Note: that you have
Don’t worry, I have made clear direction
this guide SUPER simple and can make a
& easy to follow. start ASAP!
1. Create New Socials

Create a new email address so you can

receive all of your UGC emails in one place
and they wont get lost in your normal inbox.
I suggest making it something like
“ugcwith(yourname)@gmail.com”

Use your new email address to create brand

new social accounts on TIKTOK, INSTAGRAM
and X (twitter).

On the next page there is a checklist to help

you set up your new accounts.

*IMPORTANT:
The reason you create new socials and NOT use the ones
you already have is because you need to re-brand yourself
as a UGC creator so that brands can find you! Also it helps
the algorithm put you infront of the right eyes when your
account is all one niche (UGC).
Account C h e c k l i s t
Your account names state that
you are a Content Creator.
Such as “ugcwithlaura”,
“contentcreatorlaura” or
“ugccreatorlaura”.

Your profile picture is a photo of

YOURSELF.

Your Bio is relevant to UGC. Think

of a quirky line to add in that
describes what you do. Such as
“creating scroll stopping content
for your brand” or “your brands
new bestie” get creative!

You have your email address in

your Bio.

You have your location in your Bio.

2. Follow to Learn &
Engage
FOLLOW a bunch of UGC creators
on all of your accounts! Some of
my favourite creators are:
@creativelycarla @ugc.tayla
@taylamaybon_ @_tahlsugc

ENGAGE to join the UGC Community!

Start liking and commenting on a
bunch of posts! The UGC community is
amazing and we all support each
other! You will make some great
friendships, too!

Start LEARNING from other creators

posts. Save content that you like and
take mental notes! Stuff you can learn
just from scrolling through your feed of
creators:
What brands are working with UGC
How to film certain products
What editing skills you like
3. Create Content to Post!
There are 2 types of content you will be
posting as a UGC Creator:
UGC examples
Personal brand building

UGC EXAMPLES: Before a brand will work with you, they need
to see that you actually have the skills to create content. SO,
post some examples to show them! Take any product from
your house and film an ad for it. For example film your
skincare or haircare routine promoting a product that you use.

PERSONAL BRAND BUILDING: Outside of posting your examples,

post things that build your personal brand! Don’t over think this
and don’t try too hard to force a personal brand... it will be
created naturally through your facial expressions, how you film
and how you talk! For example:
Vlogs
Behind the scenes
Sharing your wins/losses

CONSISTENCY IS
What is a Personal Brand? KEY!
My first post
Your personal brand is just your personality. What
recommendations on
people know you for. What makes you, YOU! Brands the next page
like to notice personal branding as this is what
makes you stand out, and makes you different from
every other creator!
5 Post Ideas
(WITH EXAMPLES)

1. UGC Examples!
These were my VERY FIRST examples I created, using
products I already had at home.
EXAMPLE 1 EXAMPLE 3
EXAMPLE 2 EXAMPLE 4

2. “Day _ of my UGC Journey”

(This was actually my VERY first post!)
These are interesting for me
EXAMPLE to watch now because I have
improved so much since
then!

3. “Behind the scenes” BUT I’ve chosen to show

these and not my recent
EXAMPLE
examples to prove that your
content does NOT have to be
perfect in the beginning.
4. “POV” Everyone starts from 0 and
EXAMPLE you will improve with
practice!

5. Mini vlogs
Vlog literally anything... for example
buying UGC props!
EXAMPLE
...and you’re good to go!

Focus on consistently posting using the right hashtags

(See my reel HERE for what hashtags to use) and you will
have inbounds (brands emailing you for work) in no time!
- I’m talking after only 2-3 weeks of posting!

If you have spare time and you want to pitch to some

brands while you’re waiting for the inbounds, HERE is my
pitch template!

My BEST advice for Beginners:

Don’t over think!

Just post consistently and worry about the rest later.

Don’t think 5 steps ahead, literally just think about what you
can do next to better your position, and success will follow.
hank you &
TGood Luck!
