V. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or Elicit (5 minutes)
presenting the new lesson Prayer:
1. The teacher will lead the prayer.
"God, as we start this new day for new learning, we ask for
your guidance. Give us the heart to love and be kind to one
another. Please watch over all our teachers, children, and
families. In Jesus' name. Amen."

Greetings:
1. The teacher will greet the students "Good Morning
Class!"

Checking of Attendance
1. Is there any absent for today's class? "Very good!
Perfect Attendance"

Reviewing previous lesson:

Teacher: The teacher will ask the student's about the
previous lesson.

B. Establishing a purpose for Engage (5 minutes)

the lesson
“A Quite Places”

This game will demonstrate the different factors affecting some

places and areas around the planet.

In this game, the class will be divided into two groups. And each
group will be given same question they need to answer but with a
twist. Each group should line up, and the first person on the line will
read the question and try to answer and then whisper it to the next
person on the line. The most number of points will win.

1. Is the study and description of the physical features of an area.

-Topography
2. Altitude is how high up you are above sea level.
-Altitude
3. A horizontal line on a globe which are parallel from each other.
-Latitude
4. Are giant “rivers” of water that are found in the oceans
-Ocean Current
5. This currents that flow from the polar areas towards the Equator
-Cold current
6. This currents that flow from the Equator towards the poles.
-Warm current

C. Presenting examples/ Motivational Activity: Figure the words

instances of the new lesson Direction: Name the pictures/figures to form a words related to our
topic.
- Global warming

What are the words that you get?

- Greenhouse gases
- Deforestation

D. Discussing new concepts and Explore: (10 minutes)

practicing new skills #1
The teacher will ask some students to share their idea about
Climate change.

What is climate?
- Is a change in the usual weather found in a place. This
could be a change in how much rain a place usually gets in
a year. Or it could be a change in a place's usual
temperature for a month or season.
E. Discussing new concepts and - Climate change is also a change in Earth's climate. This
practicing new skills #2 could be a change in Earth's usual temperature. Or it could
be a change in where rain and snow usually fall on Earth.
- Weather can change in just a few hours. Climate takes
hundreds or even millions of years to change.
What is the main factor in the increase of global temperature?
- The main driver of climate change is the greenhouse effect.
Some gases in the Earth’s atmosphere act a bit like the
glass in a greenhouse, trapping the sun’s heat and stopping
it from leaking back into space and causing global warming.
What is greenhouse effect?
- The greenhouse effect is the process through which heat is
trapped near Earth's surface by substances known as
'greenhouse gases.'
- Major greenhouse gases include carbon dioxide, methane,
nitrous oxide, and various synthetic chemicals. Carbon
dioxide is widely reported as the most important
anthropogenic greenhouse gas because it currently
accounts for the greatest portion of the warming associated
with human activities.
What is global warming?
- Global warming is the long-term warming of the planet's
overall temperature.
- Though this warming trend has been going on for a long
time, its pace has significantly increased in the last hundred
years due to the burning of fossil fuels.
- As the human population has increased, so has the volume
of fossil fuels burned.

Global warming happens when pollutants like carbon dioxide and

methane trap heat in the atmosphere, making the planet hotter.
These pollutants, known as greenhouse gases, absorb sunlight and
prevent it from escaping into space. Human activities, like burning
fossil fuels, are the main cause of this problem.

Relationship of carbon dioxide and temperature.

Human Activities that cause Climate Change:
1. DEFORESTATION
2. INDUSTRIALIZATION
3. USING TRANSPORTATION
4. WATER POLLUTION
Impacts of Climate Change:

F. Developing mastery (Leads to Explain: ( 5 minutes )

Formative Assessment 3)
Instruction: The teacher will divide the class into 6 groups. Each
group will make a poster with a slogan showing cause and effect of
climate change.

Material: Bond paper, pencil, coloring materials

Criteria:
Content 50%
Creativity 25%
Teamwork 25%

After 10 minutes one representative will perform their output in

classis the difference between warm and cold water in the ocean
currents?

G. Finding practical applications Elaborate: (15 minutes)

of concepts and skills in daily
living Through oral recitation, students should enumerate ways to lessen
the bad effects of global warming.
H. Making generalizations and ( 5 minutes )
abstractions about the lesson
The teacher will ask a student to answer the following questions:

1. What is climate change?

2. What is the cause and effect of climate change?
3. Differentiate El Nino from La Nina?

I. Evaluating learning Evaluate: ( 5 minutes )

ASSESSMENT (Multiple choice)

Directions: Choose the letter that corresponds to the correct

answer and write it on a ¼ sheet of paper.
1. It is a change in the usual weather found in a place or it
could be a change in a place's usual temperature for a
month or season.
A. Climate Change
B. Weather
C. Climate
2. It occurs when carbon dioxide (CO2) and other air
pollutants collect in the atmosphere and absorb sunlight
and solar radiation that have bounced off the earth's
surface.
A. Climate Change
B. Global Warming
C. Weather
3. The following are the effects of climate change except
one.
A. volcanic eruptions
B. health risk
C. melting of glaciers
4._______ can change in just a few hours. ______ takes
hundreds or even millions of years to change.
A. Weather and Climate
B. Rain and Typhoon
C. Temperature and Carbon Dioxide
5.These heat-trapping pollutants-specifically carbon
dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, water vapor, and
synthetic fluorinated gases are known as ______.
A. Climate
B. Weather
C. greenhouse gases
xJ. Additional activities for Assignment:
application or remediation
 Assignment/Agreement Instruction: On a 1 whole sheet of paper, write your reflection on
(____ minutes). Fill-in this. “Sooner or later, we will have to recognize that the Earth has
below any of the four right too, to live without pollution. What mankind must know is that
purposes human beings cannot live without mother Earth, but the planet can
 Reinforcing / strengthening live without humans”
the day’s lesson
 Enriching / inspiring the
day’s lesson
 Enhancing / improving the
day’s lesson
 Preparing for the new lesson

V. REMARKS Indicate special cases

including but not limited to
continuation of lesson plan to
the following day in case of re-
teaching or lack of time,
transfer of lesson to the
following day, in cases of class
suspension, etc.

VI. REFLECTION Reflect on your teaching and assess yourself as a teacher.

Think about your student’s progress. What works? What else
needs to be done to help the students learn? Identify what
help your instructional supervisors can provide for you so
when you meet them, you can ask them relevant questions.
Indicate below whichever is/are appropriate.
A. No. of learners who earned 18
80% on the formative assessment.
B. No. of learners who require 0
additional activities for
remediation.
C. Did the remedial lessons work? 0
No.of learners who have caught
up with the lesson.
D. No.of learners who continue to 0
require remediation
E. Which of my teaching
strategies worked well? Why did
these work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter
which my principal or supervisor
can help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized
materials did I use/discover which
I wish to share with other
teachers?
