Introduction
I have been chosen to take part in an industrial training program at Nerosoft (Pvt) Ltd. This program will
provide me with valuable practical industry experience. Throughout this four-month program, I have
been given the opportunity to take on the role of a Business Analyst trainee, providing support for both
domestic and international projects. The main objective of this industrial program is to improve practical
competencies in interpersonal problem-solving and other soft skills, which are essential for professional
growth. This report provides a detailed overview of the training experience I acquired during the training
program. The report is organized into three main sections. The opening section provides a detailed
explanation of the overall framework of the organization. The following stage involves a comprehensive
assessment of the practical experience and knowledge acquired during the time at Nerosoft Pvt. Ltd.
through diverse and engaging projects. The final section represents the culmination of the educational
journey.

Company Overview – Nerosoft solutions

Nerosoft is a company that specializes in offering enterprise resource planning solutions. Their primary
focus is on optimizing business processes and improving overall organizational efficiency. Presently,
there are 12-20 individuals employed in this organization. The headquarters of this organization is
located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Established in 2020 during the pandemic, the company has experienced
significant growth in order to provide services to a wide range of clients in various industries, both
domestically and globally, thereby empowering them. Nerosoft products primarily target small and
medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and serve a wide range of industries including manufacturing,
pharmaceuticals, healthcare, real estate, graphic communication, and others. The company's expertise
lies on completing accurate Odoo implementations and customizations. Nerosoft excels in using the
versatility of a comprehensive, cost-efficient, and flexible open-source business model. Company offers
a wide range of features, including Accounting & Finance, Purchase Management, Point of Sales,
Warehouse Management, Manufacturing, CRM, Human Resources, and Project Management, with
Odoo as the leading software. Our differentiating factor lies in our organization's ability to quickly
change the platform to perfectly correspond with the distinctive business requirements of our clients. We
have extensive expertise with Odoo and a wide array of open-source business apps. We thoroughly
assess the top open-source systems, including Odoo ERP, CRM, BPM, and others, to determine the most
suitable option for your goals. After the decision is taken, Nerosoft solution meticulously customizes and
refines the solution, resulting in a business-focused strategy that seamlessly aligns with the client's
vision. Nerosoft not only possesses extensive knowledge in Odoo, but also demonstrates exceptional
proficiency in Middleware solutions, analytics, mobile application development, and digital
transformation.

Training Experience at Nerosoft solutions

Throughout my industrial training at Nerosoft Solutions, I oversaw four projects for both domestic and
international clients in the capacity of Trainee Business Analyst. I had the opportunity to gain substantial
experience with the Odoo ERP solution. The first month-long training program was meticulously
customized to provide hands-on experience in the conception, execution, and management of enterprise

resource planning (ERP) solutions and development using the Odoo ERP. In addition, during my
duration as a business analyst, I gained substantial proficiency in customer administration, which
included the compilation of requirements.
The first week of the training program was devoted to obtaining foundational understanding of the
pragmatic implementations of Odoo and its application in diverse sectors. This objective was
accomplished by making use of the Odoo learning portal, which is open to the public and enables the
development of expertise in Odoo solutions. I have begun the implementation of essential modules
including Sales, Inventory, Accounting, and CRM. These modules are fundamental for the majority of
organizations and will furnish you with a strong foundation in Odoo ERP. Upon attaining a solid
understanding of the foundational principles, I proceeded to explore more advanced features and
modules that corresponded with my training assignment, which revolved around a franchised burger
enterprise. Instances of such domains may include manufacturing, project management, electronic
commerce, and more.
I was assigned a practical assignment beginning in the second week, which entailed developing and
implementing a workflow for a real business process. Throughout the project, I worked in close
collaboration with a group of proficient Odoo ERP specialists who provided guidance and assistance. I
was responsible for identifying the critical phases of the process, delineating duties, and devising the
strategy for implementing the ERP.

In the weeks that followed, I worked conscientiously in collaboration on both the designated practical
assignment and the training endeavor. In addition to making revisions as necessary, my responsibilities
included identifying critical business activities and requirements that must be gathered for the initial
phase of implementation. I have developed a deep understanding of the initial phases of project
execution and the essential elements of effective communication that are necessary.In light of the
project's advancement, the communication and reporting procedures might be modified during the
midpoint. Furthermore, for a second assignment granted to me by the local client Best Care Hospitals, I
am obligated to utilize the Python programming language in order to create rudimentary customizations
for the HR implementation in Odoo.
My industrial training at the Nerosoft Solutions ERP organization proved to be an exceptionally
advantageous and enlightening experience. The experience provided me with hands-on knowledge of
ERP implementation and the development of custom functionalities for ERP companies. It provided me

with the knowledge and skills necessary to design and implement enterprise resource planning (ERP)
systems utilizing the Odoo platform.

Business Analyst Role

Participate in the client's initial meeting:

Participating in the initial meeting with the client to acquire understanding of their requirements and
expectations is a crucial first step in every project. This involves gathering data on their existing
procedures and identifying the specific difficulties that the new workflow should address.

Identify the current process and provide a visual representation of the process flow:
After gathering the requirements, the subsequent step is to ascertain and chart the current process, also
known as the "as-is" process. Creating a graphical depiction of the procedure and breaking it down into
smaller stages are both elements of this. The process diagramming program used by this firm is Draw.io.

Identify the required form fields and create the form using the Odoo application:
After completing the process mapping, the next step is to determine the required form fields and create
the relevant features for the Odoo module. This necessitates the creation of a user interface that
simplifies the input of data and promotes engagement with regular business activities.

Perform the importation of master data and other necessary development of relevant data:

After doing a thorough examination of the project's functions, we can determine the fundamental data
needs. Subsequently, we can gather the aforementioned criteria from the client and initiate the
development phase of the project by submitting them to the Odoo modules.

Internal assessment of the constructed data bases :

Before presenting the process to the customer, an internal evaluation is conducted to ensure that it meets
the client's requirements and expectations. In this phase, any identified difficulties or problems are

addressed and fixed.

Attend the client's initial Show & Tell meeting:

The recommended plan of action is to participate in the initial Show & Tell meeting with the client in
order to show the databases , applications and gather feedback. This provides the opportunity to address
any concerns that may arise and make any necessary improvements.

Identify and execute the required alterations:

Based on the client's feedback, any required adjustments are determined and integrated into the Odoo
functions.

Hand off the project after the system has been filled with real user authorizations :

After making the necessary changes, the Odoo databases are given to the customer. Integrating real users
into the system ensures its effective functioning in a real-world setting.

Provide continuous application-side support to the client:

Continual support is provided to the client to ensure timely resolution of any difficulties or complaints
related to the workflow. As mandated, this may involve providing instruction, addressing problems, or
altering the workflow.

Major projects and tasks involved

Throughout my internship at Nerosoft Solutions Pvt. Ltd., I was actively engaged in a number of
substantial initiatives.

1. A comprehensive Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation for VBR Railings
Norway

As part of this endeavor, I was tasked with compiling critical specifications for five fundamental
business operations that the stakeholders intended to integrate and consolidate utilizing the Odoo
ERP solution. They aimed to establish and integrate with Odoo the following critical functions:
production, procurement, project administration, finance, and inventory control. I developed
integrations with functions and process diagrams during the initiation phase, during which I
gathered requirements. I subsequently provided the developers and consultants with a
comprehensive breakdown of the information, delineating the optimal approach for commencing
and advancing the project. Furthermore, we coordinated weekly training sessions at the railings
and glass manufacturing company for the client and their staff in order to augment their
knowledge and proficiency with the Odoo ERP solution. At present, the project has reached its
culmination phase, wherein the integration component has been fully executed.

2. Sales and implementation of LBC's bicycle ecommerce platform

LBC bicycle suppliers are well-established providers of bicycle replacement components located
in Texas, United States of America. In essence, we have executed their procurement and sales
procedures while also augmenting their customer relationship management system and
developing an electronic commerce website. I commenced working on the project in the midst of
the initiation phase for the sales and ecommerce application. Miscommunications between the
client and developers contributed to the project's failings. I quickly resolved these
communication issues and commenced the process of documenting requirements and soliciting
feedback from the client and developers within a few days of my arrival. I additionally convened
both factions on a unified platform to promote the exchange of ideas and guarantee the seamless
advancement of the undertaking.

3. Human resources solution for Bestcare veterinary clinics

The preeminent veterinary hospital chain in Sri Lanka, Best Care Hospitals operates a network of
four pet stores and five branches, and employs more than 250 individuals. Nerosoft Solutions
had, in essence, maintained a substantial clientele for a number of years. On this occasion, they
conveyed their desire to incorporate all-encompassing Human Resource functionalities into their
current Odoo applications. I gathered information and requirements pertaining to the personnel
rostering, payroll, payroll calculations, and employee master data of the organization. I
subsequently devised a process strategy for the substantial implementation in response to the
client's numerous inquiries.

Throughout the duration of this apprenticeship, I gained an extensive array of invaluable skills, which
encompassed:
1. Improved analytical abilities:
Analytical capabilities require a thorough examination of established business protocols in order to
detect any inefficiencies and possible opportunities for automation. Through the analysis of data flow
diagrams, process maps, and workflow charts, I acquired substantial knowledge regarding the potential
of automation to enhance operational procedures and bolster efficiency within an organization.

2. Proficient communication abilities:

Communication skills optimized through the active participation of stakeholders in the process of
accumulating requirements, clarifying automated solutions, and resolving concerns. By facilitating
effective and succinct correspondence through meetings, presentations, documentation, and
presentations, I was able to foster congruence between technical teams and business users, thereby
guaranteeing the triumphant execution of automation initiatives. The achievement of the objective was
contingent upon the criticality of effective stakeholder management and communication. Through the
establishment of communication channels that were both transparent and open, I successfully fulfilled
the demands of stakeholders and expedited the process of decision-making.

3. Problem-solving capabilities:
Enhanced through the capacity to recognize intricate business obstacles and devise mechanized
resolutions to tackle them. I implemented critical thinking skills to resolve issues and enhance business
operations through the decomposition of processes into feasible elements, the identification of
underlying causes, and the suggestion of automation alternatives.
4. Effective time management: Acquired through the adept handling of multiple duties and adherence to
stringent deadlines for a variety of projects. Through the implementation of project timelines, efficient
resource allocation, and vigilant progress monitoring, I effectively oversaw the timely delivery of
quality-assured automation solutions.

5. Enhancement of collaboration and teamwork:

Encouraged through the integration of automation solutions in conjunction with cross-functional teams. I
facilitated cooperation among end-users, developers, and business analysts by means of coordinated
coordination, information exchange, and effective communication. The objective was to increase the
effectiveness and efficacy of the organization's operations.

6. Technological advancements and knowledge enhancements in innovations:

Propelled by an unwavering commitment to pioneering advancements and a corporate environment that

In summary, my tenure as a business analyst trainee at Nerosoft Solutions has been extraordinarily
gratifying, affording me the opportunity to significantly contribute to pioneering endeavors spanning
numerous industries. Upon the completion of my four-year academic program, I am astounded by the
profound influence the skills and knowledge I gained during that time have had on my professional
development and career trajectory. Through meticulous requirement gathering, proficient stakeholder
management, and unwavering commitment to continuous improvement, I have significantly contributed
to the development of state-of-the-art business solutions that are in perfect harmony with the goals of our
clients. As I advance in my role, I remain dedicated to fostering innovation and facilitating sustainable
growth in the digital realm.
By gaining practical experience with Nerosoft products and the open source Odoo ERP Software, I
established a solid foundation in process integration. This knowledge has been extremely advantageous
in my subsequent roles. My adeptness in designing and implementing enterprise resource planning
(ERP) solutions, conducting customization tasks, and improving operational procedures has been
instrumental in bolstering the effectiveness and output of the organization.
In addition, this particular experience has fostered within me a deep-seated acknowledgment of the
criticality that technology plays in the functioning of modern corporations. Through my extensive
experience with various technologies and methodologies in process automation, I have managed to
remain abreast of the industry's rapid evolution and remain well-informed about the most recent
developments.
My industrial training at the Nerosoft solutions company constituted a pivotal juncture in my
professional and academic trajectory. Since its inception, the program has bestowed upon me invaluable
practical knowledge, expertise, and proficiencies that have profoundly impacted my career path and
enabled me to contribute substantially to the organizations with which I have been affiliated.
